He is way too fast for Cantskate28 and ImDone21 that is for sure.
- IonSabres

Man they have the pieces to really change around that 4th line. The only problem is youth.

Only thing blocking is how crappy we have been.

He's actually the one I am more inclined to think that will sign out of the 3.

Big difference between Bear for close to nothing and a bigger hockey trade that helps them now and long term.
- Lunaion

Agreed
People here freak out about both though

No one in the Sabres organization is unaware he's the best goalie we have by a long shot, including Levi, and crickets are all we get. Dumpster fire year three in net, and this kid is hiding.

If he's so scared to be here trade his ass for a starting goalie right now who takes a chunk of cap space. We have $19 million.

And, if we're just going to (frank)ing tank with this poop tank goaltending then (frank)ing tank. Trade Z, Okposo, Mitts and Vic for nothing but picks. Bring up every kid in Rochester and let's really friggen get serious about losing.

Hinostroza should be waived because he won't return a 6th rounder at this point.

I'd say trade Asplund too, but someone might replace him who can score more than 4 goals a year. It balances though, he'll get pounded into the boards and have to miss 8 more games before the year is done anyway.

Can Alex Tuch give us a schedule of the games he wants to take off? It would have been nice to know he was mailing last night in. What's that now, about 6 games he's no showed out of 22?

Mitts should return a 2nd. Makes sense. Sabres waste a 1st, semi develop a player, then trade him to an actual NHL organization for 50 cents on the dollar. Nothing like being a farm team.

Okposo might get you a 3rd

Z might get a 2nd

Vic is the wildcard. I have no clue what he returns in a trade, but we can't find a defensive player to make up for him in his own end even though he's on pace for 41 goals this year. I guess that means rumors of Asplund's greatness are just that: rumors. From 6th rounder to NHL sniper. Thanks but no thanks, Vic.

Maybe time for the brown paper bag on the head again. It was the Eichel era the last time I wore one of those at a game.

To say this team hasn’t played well enough to be 12-10 or 12-9-1 in the standings isn’t a stretch.

But consider the source at the end of the day.

The same source who's been yelling for goaltending for 2 years. Damn sure wish we'd listen to him. But, hey, goaltending just miracles itself onto your roster after you say xChances enough times.

Everyone here loved Mitts, Asplund, Olofsson many times last year. Myself included. Remember that before you annoint Quinn, Peterka and Cozens. It only hurts worse.

Because the three of them are atrocious on a line doesn't make them individually terrible.

Olofsson and Asplund had some real fine results last year. Mitts, based on his entire career of work, appears to be sinking his lines.

Mittelstadt is destroying almost every single player he plays with.

Is it fair to say they could and maybe should be looking to upgrade on all 3?

Granatos answer on Mitts was frustrating.

Jeremy “the mitts line is really strugglingwhy is that?”

Granato - “Casey has more power play points than Tuch so he is producing”

I blacked out after that.

that's irritating but Granato doesn't ever bury his players.

He was largely benched in the third period, that's strong indication of how we all feel.

That line wasn't buried enough in the 3rd.

What was more mystifying was Granato's decision on when to put that line on the ice.

Those three, as a line, have more solid games together last year, games we all liked, than 22, 24, 77 have this year. That's my only point.

Ya know, Adam Henrique wouldn't be a terrible idea as a replacement.

With a different center I think we're looking at an acceptable/fine third line. I'd love to see evidence from anyone refuting Mittelstadt as the weak(est) link

Granato basically laughed about the current trade rumors.

He essentially refused to comment on goaltending. That said a lot. Don is a very nice man. That's about as much as he's gonna throw anyone under the bus.

He put them on the ice for a draw on the dot just outside the Sabre blueline. Shocker it ended with a Stamkos goal. That's on Don. Expecting Stamkos to not eat up Vic is straight up amateur when you have the home ice last change.

None of those three players have a track record of scoring at 5 on 5.

I'll bet they had several games as a line last year where they had amazing expected stats.

skinner scores to make it 5-3

then the casey line is on the ice and 16 seconds later stamkos scores
