I'm not overly concerned with the handedness or position, but for me it's:

2nd line established forward (not "middle-six" or promising prospect)
2nd pairing defenseman
4th line, hard-hitting faceoff guy

With Cozen, Quinn, JJ looking good and Rosen, Savoie, Kulich, Ostlund on the way, do you really see them looking for top 6 help? How does it all fit?

Either a top 6 forward or Top 4 d. Doesn’t matter trade or free agency, add to the roster to make the next step…

Not sure who… I like Hovart, but would he re-sign?

Also possible he's focused on smaller moves and is content with the top half of the roster. 3rd line prospects are there, but the roster spots are occupied by dead weight. Gotta upgrade the D and get something in the pipeline.

If they identify and trade for a D with 2+ years of time left, they'll be fine for the foreseeable future. Samuelsson, Dahlin and Power are likely here long term. Who occupies the lower two spots isn't a huge deal imo. They can find a Prysk or a Franson

They used 12D last season. Almost ran out of healthy D in the organization a few weeks ago. Filling Roch with all UFA's each year isn't a sound plan.

They came pretty close to calling up Laaksonen, who is getting scratched in Roch. Need a few bodies. Hopefully they'll grab a college UFA.

Well that's cause it was basically free, same with Timmons. He has had chances to add for minimal cost and has chosen not to.

Think the squirrel on his face caused wind drag so Girgensons lost control of the puck.

They have to decide whether Mittelstadt is going to be Krebs or if Krebs is going to be Krebs. And can Cozens really be expected to be much more offensively than either.

I see a lot of 3C potential among all 3 and I'm still not seeing the real 2C stuff
