The Pittsburgh goal last night that was ruled “no goal” because the ref blew the whistle early: would that be a goal if there was no whistle?

I’ve watched the overhead view a few times (thanks, TicTacTOmar) and I say that wouldn’t be a goal.

The puck being loose in the crease gives him the right to go in after it. He's not pushing the goalie or preventing him from making a save - he's in pursuit of a loose puck that's between the goal line and the goalie - so incidental contact (even laying him) in an attempt to put the puck in, is allowed. It would have been a good goal.
