Pirates are not incompetent at all. They choose the path they are on; to not spend or try to win. In fact very smart as their owners I believe make a ton of the revenue sharing.

The team is a joke and the joke is on us. But until people stop buying tix and merch and stop watching the games NOTHING WILL CHANGE!!

Comcast doesn’t give a damn about on ice play, player development or winning. It’s all about the almighty dollar. Let ticket sales drop to less than 15k per game, merch sales drop over 25% and ratings hit rock bottom; then the suits in the boardroom might just notice that their hockey team is a dumpster fire.

How is that any different from Hextalls drafts while they were waiting for them to arrive? At least Hextall provided some NHL players right away or very shortly after. 4 years later Chuck has not one pick on his NHL roster.

There is nothing special in that group at all. Maybe one blue chip prospect. They rest pretty much every NHL team has same kind of prospect and better.

Samu looks like a total bust.

Some individual players do look better, but team skill will continue to be an issue without more high end talent. I would have to look at 3rd period goals against more closely. I would guess they are in games longer but they still lose them by similar margins. Effort is a given. Skill…yeah. Be good either defensively or offensively or be shown the door. Time to make the personnel decisions and see if they can gain some draft capital. Concentrate on development.

Talent. So Provy, TK, Hayes, Laughton, TDA typically play together & clearly more talented than Seeler, Risto, Braun, Sedlak, Nic D, MacEwen yet the bottom 6 better plus minus than the top 5 🤔 so maybe you need both

That's the issue and it has always been the issue. The same thing happened two seasons in a row. Some fans see early results and are fooled by it. As if something has changed. The first dozen or so games for most teams don't show anything.

Remember, last year they had the all mighty cc greatest player in franchise history dispersing all his skills. This years team is clearly less skilled but clearly playing w more effort. If you can’t see that than that’s an issue

It could turn out to be the same no doubt. But IMO Hextall stunk because of how his picks played out especially the 1st & 2nd rounders.
