I wouldn’t be shocked to see coots Ellis and Atkinson stuck on ltir until retirement. What a treat that will be. - Hextall271
That would not be shocking. There is really no need to hope this team finds any success this season. Without even average center play there is no shot at competing. Pretty sad the best center option playing right now is Sedlak. When/if Laughton returns, he won't improve the situation.

They’ve got to try. If the market dictates you have to wait until offseason then so be it. I want the gm out now but I worry that it may not happen any time soon which would be the real disaster. Even if we didn’t hit on picks by getting generational talents Its literally impossible for us to have been worse off then if we had kept hextall or at least had a gm who subscribed to the same philosophy. Clearly, it wasn’t go time for the team to go all in with trading picks for vets when chuck took over. That much seems certain. - Hextall271
Go time. Remember when ronnie signed JVR to $7 mil a season.
Not saying chuck is great but what delusional world are you living in. St Ronnie wiffed on so many picks. Not only did he not draft talent he left us w virtually no nhl players all ahl caliber. At least chuck has guys everyone seems excited about. Short memory I guess |

St Ronnie 👏 - Fopa21 It goes back further. Look at Holmgrens last 4 drafts.

I like Tippett. One of the pieces I’d keep. My wish for Xmas would be to fire chuck and have his replacement begin as much of a tear down as he can. Some of the pieces could be valuable to a contender. Very few untouchables if you get the right price. - Hextall271 There are zero untouchables. Some will take more to acquire.

Whether I want the GM out depends on who replaces him. Not excited about another in the current chain of command taking over. They need a complete organizational shift, and I don't see that happening with just firing Fletcher.

What they have to do is start bundling their real assets with anchors to make cents on the dollar trades. Package a hart with a ristolainen for a cap dumps on shorter deals. Package hayes with Cutter and foerster for more cap dumps.
It has to be scorched earth to turn this over. That may mean gutting your draft/prospect capital for a couple years.
There’s only one way out. Pain |

Sedlak is not the best center option playing right now. He is at best, the third best option.

Hell no one can with certainty what is even ailing Cam. Couturier has 8 years, you don't think he will try to come back and play?

Senseless. Cap is not a problem. This year it is but who cares. Money coming off books & cap going up. Do some research

Well according to the HC he is right now. One can choose to disagree with that assessment, but right now he is the 1C. On this team, that assessment could change quickly.

Agree. Which is why it’s illogical to say chuck shoulders majority of the blame. When you can’t scout draft & develop this is this outcome eventually it catches up to you. You have to be able to build through the draft. Chucks drafts at least look promising right now. Next year & year after will determine how they pan out |

He's not the 1C. They don't really have a 1C

He's a nice complementary forward who can fit on a contending team. The Flyers don't need the $3.65M cap hit for three years. I like the player but it's not where the Flyers' energies should focused. - bmeltzer
I’m sure chuckles is all over it then 😡 |

So we knew the Flyers lack offense especially with additional injuries, but they give up more goals than they should.
The most common scoring occurrence in the first 22 games last season (‘21-‘22) was the Flyers giving up 3 or more goals a game which happened 15x with a record of 2-10-3. In the first 22 games of this ‘22-‘23 season, the Flyers also gave up 3 or more goals 15x with a record of 1-10-4. Deja vu anyone?

But this team is different than last years. Tortorella clearly has this team playing with more effort.

The team is a joke and the joke is on us. But until people stop buying tix and merch and stop watching the games NOTHING WILL CHANGE!!
Comcast doesn’t give a damn about on ice play, player development or winning. It’s all about the almighty dollar. Let ticket sales drop to less than 15k per game, merch sales drop over 25% and ratings hit rock bottom; then the suits in the boardroom might just notice that their hockey team is a dumpster fire. |
