ZM played more than Crosby and Malkin.
ZM doesn’t “deserve” 17 minutes. Are your watching the games? He has next to no skill. Oh my bad he skates hard and makes himself look busy. That being said I hope he continues to get 17 minutes a game. - furio16
Who on the flyers does ‘deserve’ 17 minutes. I agree Crosby and Malkin do…that wasn’t the question….but you know that. |

I regret that I watched the game today even though I expected the Pens to hand it to us. As for ZM, I agree that he deserves ice time based on the current roster, the injuries, etc. Of course he would not be getting 17 minutes on a good team, but we are in a bad state. At least ZM is noticeable out there...he lacks skills as some will will be quick to point out, but he never was expected to be a game changer. He's a 4th liner on a good team but on this team, he has earned his spot. - Don Nachbaur
He also looks like he’s sticking to the system in comparison to some. I’m by no means a huge fan of his game and I don’t think you win games with him on the ice that much and getting that much responsibility. But I also see what the alternatives are playing like….god, it’s like some don’t actually watch the games at all. It’s hard, but I’m still plugging through. |

On a good team he isn’t in the top 12. - furio16
And again….no one is saying that. |

On the bright side, the Flyers may have only got 9 shots by the midway point of the game and got outscored overall 4-1 for their 9th straight loss, but they were 2-0 in fights! |

ZM is a good bottom 6 player in this league and is playing probably the best he can possibly play on any team right now. If they were smart, the Flyers should be trading ZM at the deadline because I believe they will actually get something for him. Can't wait for the fire sale to happen this year, its the only thing the Flyers can realistically do. They must tank for Bedard! |

Yes. My only concern is I don’t want chuck making the trade decisions.

No st Ronnie’s drafting was fine, his player development and coaching choices set this franchise back 10 years. - Shrike
I’m so sick of hearing about Hextall. He’s been gone 4 years. I wasn’t a fan of his, but he left the team in a better position to succeed than it was when he was hired. Fletcher came in and burned the place down. Comcast and Fletcher have destroyed this team. |

I completely agree. I have no idea why people are focused on hextall when chuck has been here 4 years and absolutely destroyed the team with no discern able plan |

We are getting what we wanted, the Flyers are bottoming out, who knows wo the injuries they would have been just good enough to screw up the draft. They have an AHL team on the ice vs NHL teams, every line is slotted wrong, let them play and whatever happens, happens |

Wasn’t the fire sale supposed to happen the last two Trade deadlines ? I have no faith that our Bozo for a GM will do what’s obviously needed. |

Sanheim should have been moved. Instead he gives him $50M lol |

MacEwen does not play on a good team on the 4th line. On a good team, he is at best a 13th forward and more likely an AHL depth call up.

What qualifies as getting something for MacEwen? A 7th round pick?

Disagree that he should've been moved. He shouldn't have gotten an 8 year deal though.

Yeah. Fletcher can’t even lose right. The Torts hiring (and Hart playing so well the first couple weeks) was a wonderful way to finish 9-11th overall. Still sucking, yet not a top 3 pick. |

The Flyers are just as bad or probably even worse then the 8 below them. The Flyers are tied for 1st in the league accumulating the loser point. Steadily dropping each week.

Actually it would be hilarious if they did get him. None of us Flyers fans expect anything else. We hope but we know better. Kind of like when we buy lottery tickets. We hope we wake up a $100 million richer, but we know we won’t.
Even if we get Bedard or one of the other top end talents, rest assured, there are too many untradable contracts for the next several years. We’d be rolling out a starting 6 of:
Hayes-Bedard-McEwen
Risto-Sanheim
Hart |

Parity. The Flyers 1-6-3 in their last 10 games. Yet they are 3 points from Florida. 4 points from Colorado. 5 from the Rangers and 6 from Carolina. Which is 17th to 13th in the league. They are the same point range to the bottom of the league.

Well maybe we can afford a better winger instead of ZM… after all we’ll have Ellis and Coots still on LTIR |

I keep saying this. Getting Bedard would be great but overall. At least in the short term, what is it going to change? Look at all the teams that drafted a player first overall and other high picks. Edmonton, Buffalo, Arizona and others. What have they done. Edmonton has arguably the two best offensive players in the league. Teams that have been successful, look at how long it took them to get to the top? There is no quick fix. Drafting Bedard in and of itself is not going to turn this team around. You have to build successfully around that player.
