Good road win, D are stepping up, Murray is a bit of a poophead and I love it... playing really well too.

What? JT had the puck on the boards. All three were inside the blue line. Johnny lost the puck. All three turned back towards the D zone. Marner was back. Boldy was JT’s man and he wasn’t covered. Jarnkrok was the last guy back.

I am talking if you are tired get the F off the ice. He is never tired heading to the O zone and often stays on too long.

Regardless of JT not doing his job and getting it deep, Marner had a chance to get off.... but was thinking all offense. Just like on the penalty kill. Granted JT could have worked harder on that backcheck.

Combination of ability to read plays and skill - Mitch. Just because that’s their main job doesn’t mean they’re better
- Canada Cup

Disagree. Kampf and ZAR are defensive specialists and, as such, are better defensively.

Mitch is orders of magnitude a better two-way forward. AM34 should not be lost in that conversation - he's flirted with Selke-ness as well.

He wasn’t thinking offense. He was all the way back into the D zone. He didn’t really pick anybody up but he did come back. I don’t see what offense he was looking for. Watch the replay. Jarnrok was the last guy back.

Yessir. People either rise or fall to the occasion, and this stretch of our top 3 D being out may just be what we need to kick start some confidence for these guys.

Kinda don't love Robertson and Malgin getting the shaft though. I know we're winning, and coaches go with winning rosters typically, but Robertson should playing a lot at this point.

no shafting has been done to them.
The wild are a big physical team so it made sense to insert Simmonds into the line up.
one of those two will be in the line up tomorrow night.

The original comment is that the puck should have been dumped in for a change. My comment is that Marner was at the redline when Tavares was crossing the blueline and he had pleanty of time to go off for the change. Instead he went and chased the puck inside the opposition blue line with a fly by. He did work to get back, but solely blaming JT that his line couldn't change does not appear right.

I’ve been a holl hater but he’s really stepped up with injuries. He blocks a ton of shots and when he stays out of the box he’s a key penalty killer. Hopefully he keeps it up.

The Leafs have one regulation loss in the last 13 games and Marner has a 15 game point streak. Rad.

It’s amazing when you consider the adversity they’ve faced already. Plus the fact that Matthews has a bad back or something.

Something is off with him right now. Hasn’t been a game breaker like his usual self. Not getting a lot of shots off or late to pucks, slow reading plays, just a shell of himself. Hopefully it’s a nagging injury, illness and can get back to his normalcy which it lighting up the league and looking like he can score 2/3 a night every night.

I said before …/ will say it again. The league is always on the Leafs side. It is so obvious.

Mb don't even compare those 2. Houston actually wins in postseason lol.

LOL, even with the refs on their side, playing cheap hockey, Toronto still can't do poop.

I noticed one night that he took a light crosscheck to the back and he was wincing all the way to the bench.
He doesn’t try very hard to strip pucks anymore either. We’ll probably hear at some point that he’s been playing through something.
