If Fletcher and the old guard were shown the door today, and boy do they deserve it, would this fan base be patient enough to deal with the growing pains? I don’t think so. If I remember correctly, when Hextall was fired, his drafts picks didn’t materialize but this team was not saddled with too many long contracts and I believe they were well under the cap. Now we have both and not in a good way. Knowing draft picks need time to mature, even if they’re smart and good picks, gonna take quite a few years to get out from under the avalanche of bad deals with bad players. It will seem that the new regime is just treading water for most of that time. I’m sure, just as in the past, most will be screaming for “Go time” with the new picks. To me this season is “ Go Time” for the management to get a head start while some of our division foes are showing their age. Meanwhile they’re digging themselves deeper.
Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving fellas.

Problem is as fans we can't continue to be patient with Fletcher. Enough is enough.

The longer they stay with Chuck the longer we have to wait for relevance. I really feel for the next guy. It's going to feel like an insurmountable hole to climb out of.

They haven't looked good recently. I could make an argument Provorov was almost as guilty for the game tying goal as Frost. He(Provorov) looked to be puck watching.

I can't blame Provorov. One Cap stick handled through the middle of the neutral zone unchecked with the Flyers sitting in a 1-2-2. Provorov had to protect against that player going straight to the net and the Cap coming down the right wing. They were caught flat footed.

I see the point about the faceoff but Brown should never see the ice in OT

If he wins you play the puck back to your d zone so there is plenty of time to swap him out. If he loses, would not you rather have him playing D instead of Hayes? It is the price you have to pay for not having elite talent (even though we pay like we do)

Well. Then it’s sold. On that note. Where did taryn hatcher go? I haven’t noticed her on the flyers feeds I get from centre ice. I’ll have to ask dr Google.

I'm glad for her, but downgrading the Flyers broadcast team like this really feels like they're kicking us while we're down. We're already getting inferior hockey, did they have to stick us with Barkann again too? smh

To everyone here, even if you don’t celebrate our American Thanksgiving, I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. Always fun and definitely enjoyable to read, post, argue and read the exchanges.

I’ve been reading this site for well over five years and I’ve never seen Aaron 85 before a couple weeks ago.

He evidently deleted one of my posts that correctly referenced Tony DeAngelo’s disciplinary history, yet I can’t delete Aaron 85 posts. Why?

I also posted an article from the NY post by Larry Brooks which was deleted. No idea why.

RIP Borje Salming. I just saw him being honored at a Leafs game a week or two ago. Tragic. What an awful disease.

Sorry for the downer. I lost a friend to ALS a few years ago so it hits close to home.

Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving. I know I did. Celebrated with a bunch of white-meat eaters so I got most of the dark to myself, which doesn’t happen when we celebrate with my side of the family. Made a pig of myself. Drank a lot of Prosecco. Hung out with nice people. 👍

That’s the thing….if Hextall had left him with absolutely nothing then I could give Fletcher some leeway. But that’s how GMs get jobs for the most part. They replace guys that weren’t doing a good job. Yes there were holes when Fletcher arrived…those holes now are considerably bigger. Fletchers over all performance can be summed up in a quick summation “a comedy of error’s”.
