New Maple Leaf Conor Timmins, 24, is a 6-foot-2, 202-pound, right-shot defenceman and former Soo Greyhound. Friendly $850,000 cap hit. Will turn RFA after this season.
So he's not tiny. |

Like, do we not have any shooting threats from the outside? Seems like we're trying to deke our way into the net... really don't know jack about soccer either. |

That's a bit of a stretch. - gravyface
Maybe. But Marchment becoming relevant or anything close to what he is now was also a big stretch at the time. |

What a move by Dubas. This will fix everything. |
|
|
|
Timmins played all 10 games in the '21 playoffs and looked good - like he was ready to break through. In the last game of that regular season that clinched the President's trophy, he looked exceptional registering two assists. That knee injury last year really set him back. I've never thought much of Dubas but Timmins is a pretty good lottery ticket gained for the price of Curtis Douglas. Especially considering he was traded for Darcy Kuemper the last time around.
Once upon a time the Avs thought this would be their RD1 and RD2 for the next decade.

I'm catching the sarcasm but if it makes anyone feel any better, other than a nice hit on Manson that brought him endless harassment the entire night Marchment looked like steaming crap in the Avs game v. Dallas a couple nights ago.
Timmins is from Aurora - isn't that a suburb or at least kinda sorta close to Toronto? If so, you got 2 Dubas cliches - Soo guy and comin' home guy. |
|
|

Honestly think its not a bad deal at all.
Everyone looking for that RHD and Dubas nets one out of the blue. Cost controlled and RFA too.
Now I did like Douglas but even training camp/exhibition he looked slow and not great at all. I dont know if he will be more than fourth line Clifford type player. At this point its a pretty good deal overall. |
