This is the first year he’s actively trying to win.

I’d be shocked if they moved a 2023 first as well even with a protection with how good this draft class is.

I’m not sure why he’d be hesitant to move a 2024 first though

After the top 10 it's the same as any other draft. I don't know if Chychrun is that player but there shouldn't be a hesitation to use it on such player. You can only have so many prospects.

Need to find a way to make a hockey trade, and not just deal with futures or future considerations.

I have heard Don Granato and several players say, "the first forward back into the zone is the center." Now, off a defensive zone draw this does not apply, but the top line isnt there for defensive zone faceoffs most of the night. In the Sabres system, it's not wildly different, that's why Don wants so many forwards to play both C and W.

That’s true of just about any team
Of course a winger won’t leave the net front uncovered if the Center isn’t back yet,
But once everyone does get back into the zone, you’ll generally see guys reset into their positions
It’s obviously fluid

But the point is that the “Center” has different responsibilities in the defensive zone
