Fun to play against.

If I saw a left side of Hughes, OEL, Stillman.

On the defence they need at least 3 better defenders.

On offence, they score goals as Bruce said. Just too bad, they are all sacrificing defence in the name of offence.

They need a better mix of players.

And yet management remains calm and complacent. The AV's will be their 20th game.

If they had pulled the trigger on Green even a week earlier they might have made the playoffs. I think it’s clear now that playoffs aren’t the goal.

I believe Carol posted something from Justin Bourne, awhile back, showing some of many of the Canucks breakdowns, anyone know how I can retrieve that, as I can't find it anywhere.

No GM is going to help them out knowing it's a need bigger than any other need in the NHL right now.

To me there is no team in the NHL that is actually trying to win hockey games with a bigger need. Washington and the Wild could use some scoring, not nearly as much as Van need defenders.

Beat me, I was reading Bourne's other article about slamming the ball down defence's throat's in the NFL because lineman have changed. Attributing it to the net front guy in the NHL. Van could use one of those. Could also use a player that likes to attack in the offence zone. Defend the blue paint. Etc etc.

Leafs' D down Muzzin, Brodie and now Rielly.
Pressure's on to scour the trade market. Easier said than done of course at this time of year.

During last night's game, Podkolzin had a couple chances to paste a defenseman, yet chose to do a stickwaving fly-by, leading to an easy breakout pass.
This behavior is becoming contagious, as last season he at least bumped the player.

Canucks can make your boy Stillman available, but they probably won't.

The real issue here is Demko killing me in my pool.

Why didn't we get another look at Lockwood?

It highlights the issues with Benning and his instruction on "find goal scorers" because scoring in the NHL is hard.

A lack of everything else.

Sending Lockwood back down is another headscratcher, like when they sent Brisebois back down. If you are defensively responsible, you aren't good enough for the Canucks.

Well, the Cancks did get Schmidt for a 3rd that same off-season.

I'm waiting for him to mature. Reminds me a bit of Nichushkin when he was that age. So inconsistent. I'm not sure the rotation of line mates and as you said the rest of the team stick waving away helps.

I like him because he can/will mix it up. He's certainly needs work on his defensive skills. Still only 24.

If he can get the team a late round pick.

Robert Hagg got a 6th last season I believe. That's good enough for me to get that kind of return.
