Not sure what to think of Regula. When he keeps it simple and sticks to his strengths, he can be reliable. Otherwise he's not that good.

Same with Phillips. Both get caught flat footed or sleeping at the wheel quite a bit. Their play recognition needs to sharpen.

Vlasic had his best pro game last night being consistent with using his size and reach to kill plays early, plaster guys along the boards, and take away time and space by the crease.

Crevier is steadily playing that same style as Vlasic's partner. It's good he plays within his means. Still lots to work on but he's not horrid by any stretch as a rookie who will continue to fill out his huge frame and add more muscle.

Hi Fox great info on the prospects.
On Regula I know they used him in front of the net on the PP in Jr. with London do you think they would ever try that on the big team. Maybe our 2nd coming of Buff lol never know right . All the Best Fox

Hypothetical - say Mitchell is pretty much ready and they trade Murphy at the deadline. Then they go young next year. It could look like this with the pipeline:

McCabe - S. Jones
Vlasic - Mitchell
Galvas - Roos

Allan - Regula
Phillips - Crevier
Kaiser - DelMastro

2024-25
Korchinski - Kelly

2025-26
Harding - Rinzel

It is a crowded pipeline but not overly so. They added 10 forwards and 2 dmen in the last draft, so they have started loading up on forwards. No reason that one dman couldn't be drafted in the top 3 rounds (maybe 2 or more if they obtain more 2023 picks at the deadline). Still plenty of picks for forwards.

Looking forward to reviewing dmen prospects after the WJC.

Might Kaiser be a fast tracker. His skating, puck handling/puck moving is very good. Adjustment to NHL speed may not take him as long.as others.

Perhaps Slavin replaces Entwhistle?

I think you always take the most talent. If there is a surplus then you can move a guy down the line to fill a gap.

I say they go with a veteran defense again next season. They don't trade Murphy and they pick up a Tinnordi/Johnson type as the 4th vet along with Seth and McCabe.

If Roos and Mitchell show they belong they'll be 5 and 6. Hopefully sayonara to Caleb. Maybe Vlasic as 7. And there will be injuries affording cups of coffee to other Rockford defensemen.

Let not rush Korchinski. Next year it's either the Juniors or NHL for him because of his age. I opt to keep him in Juniors.

I have written some glowing reviews here of Korchinski after seeing him play live, but I have to agree that jumping two levels to the NHL and over all of the current prospects is really too much to expect. Would like to see him maybe get his 9 games and then go back to the WHL next year.

Keeping vets next year could be the best option. Regardless, I think there is room for taking some Dmen in the draft. Maybe this year's draftees have a 3-year timeline so they come in right after the current D prospects are signed.

After 8 SOG after 2 periods - 4 by Dmen - I look forward to some young top 6 talented forwards being on the team.

The dmen just take longer to develop that's why i say that

Wish they could schedule the AHL game and NHL game so they both don't go to intermission about the same time

Usually this is correct approach. If it is a close call on best player available, do you think they go the dman route again? Would you after reviewing the depth of dmen prospects we have already drafted?

Not one young dman has proven themselves yet, pump the brakes.

When can we trade Kane ! Shows he has no interest in playing for a losing team. We are only in November and this team is finished.

If the Hawks could add four top six forwards, three top four dmen, and an all star goalie, they’d be right there.

You mean like the glory years - guys like Toews and Kane in their prime, Hossa, Sharp, Saad, Keith, Seabs, Hammer, Oduya and Crawford? That only took about 6 drafts, winning a couple of trades and a big free agent signing.

Maybe the team is saving itself for Sunday's game and will win one for Hossa.

We all knew this was going to happen… I’m counting the days until Kane and Toews are finally gone… with the exception of Domi there is absolutely no skill on this roster whatsoever so even if it’s the tank for Bedard or whatever it’s not going to matter much because you are going to need to revamp this entire roster… outside of the dmen (please release Caleb jones) Raddysch is the only forward IMO is the only player on the team that’s with keeping in the top 9…

Well picking in the top 5 or so for two or three years get lucky on a later pick or two see where the holes are and with cap space open fill the holes with some high price talent and bing bang boom your back in the conversation

If we can add a few more 1st/2nd round picks 23, 24 and 25 draft that would help as well
