Hoping for Beau to go on a streak but the guy has to know he’s probably the next one out if that doesn’t happen. Playing with a target on his back.
- Cptmjl

Beau can play but right now he isn't producing on the scoresheet, I believe it was 7 thay pointed out he's good on the forecheck and he is but they really do need more production from him. Barzal scores his first tonight

#Isles    Lambert on Bailey:

"Josh is a huge part of our team going forward, huge part of the leadership group. And sometimes, there's certain decisions that happen and players just have to deal with it and we have to deal with it, but he's a huge part of our team moving forward

Certainly sounds like Ross Johnston is remaining in tonight's #Isles lineup at #Predators with Josh Bailey remaining out of the lineup.

Well there goes Vukota’s Bailey GWG pick.

No I just think against big heavy teams that are tough he likes to use guys like Ross just like Barry did. Who comes out? The guy doing shat.

Going in order of most likely to least likely, in my opinion:

- Lambert actually does want size in the lineup

- Lambert recognizes Bailey is not playing well enough to be in the lineup and is being nice by saying he wants Johnston in for size/toughness

- Bailey is dinged up and they just want to let him rest a little

- He has a private personal issue going on that they don't want to announce

- They're shopping him and/or are working to finalize a deal

- eichiefs9

I for one would love to see that 5 million spent elsewhere. At this stage do you really need to bench a guy to get the most out of him?

I don't know that he's being benched as a motivational tool as much as Lambert just believes that having Johnston in the lineup gives us a better chance to win than Bailey does right now

It works on some guys. And really, what does Lane have to lose when it comes to Bailey.

A person can pretty much pencil in a Johnston/Jeannot fight tonight.

Perhaps. I guess you can now add being scratched for a 4th liner to his resume.

Knew you’d like that.

Here’s hoping Romanov smashes Forsberg too. 🤞

Very.

Johnston is the bigger of the two, but it’d still be a fair fight.

Well if Johnston gives you a better chance to win then kindlyrick is right its a polite way of saying Bailey sucks

That doesn't say much for Josh. If they want Johnston's toughness they could sit Clutter or Martin.

Of course!

It just feels like something else is going on. I wonder if Bailey has some minor injury and they are resting him.

I actually don’t think Johnson is that bad of a player. Especially for a plug type.

I don't either and he has a cheap contract. I'm not convinced the team is better with him over Bailey - and I'm far from a Bailey fan.
