Forbes does a great job breaking down valuation of sports franchises.

Aquaman is doing just fine thank you. No need to be concerned he's not making money. Any COVID losses are easily recoverable.

You’re missing the point, which you brought up. Of course he’s a wealthy individual but he’s not making money from the (hockey) operations, it’s from other things. Just because the value of your house goes up doesn’t mean it helps you pay your bills at the end of the month or increases your monthly cash flow. Unless you want to borrow against it, which is stupid.

I was thinking the other day that Travis Green must be feeling a bit better about himself, with the way this season has played out.

Apparently he's good friends with Rick Tocchet

Why do you care about Travis Green's feelings?

Maybe he's getting Green a TV gig?

They're both trash 🗑️ coaches.

Pearson must be happy he's out because he's hot garbage

14 GP 5 pts team worst +/- at -9

Leave him on IR and waive him when he's better.

It would be stupid to borrow against the value of a $1 billon business? I think not borrowing against that kind of asset is stupid.

Never, never, never use your own money.

Isn't that how Elon gets his money? Borrowing against his businesses?

You still got that pic?

If you ever want to clear the chat room, just drop that in here.

I don't think so. Was on an old lap top that's long gone...

That was the last time I had a tonsilitis flare up. Must be 10 years now or so. The only time I've been sick in the last 8 years is the Covid I got last winter. No cold or flu during that time frame... I just dodged getting my father's cold even though we live together now. I have a pretty strong immune system I guess.

I read a Green quote from a couple of weeks ago. The only thing I heard from him since he was canned. He said he'd definitely do things different next time.

Different from what I said, but yeah, from a business perspective that’s what they do. Trump is famous for overvaluing his properties and borrowing against it. The guy is such a con-artist. He really has no actual money

I think the biggest mistake most coaches make is overusing bottom 6 players and thinking their work ethic will make them better players if played more. That and giving those types longer leashes than younger, more skilled, players.

His money comes from stock valuations. Didn’t he just sell 4 billion worth of Tesla stock?

If you were the owner making tons of money and the fans at the arena are dancing in the seats, buying expensive beer and food, buying jerseys: would you tear it down?

I am not saying it shouldn't be done because it should be but, the owner doesn't see it that way.

That's the thing Someone needs to get FA on board. Linden tried but got canned. Personally after the 2012 PO punting and all the talk around Kesler at that time sh!t should have really started then. But no way was Gillis ripping the club apart with FA breathing down his neck.

Would’ve been interesting to see how Mike Gillis handled a tear down of the team. Just out of curiosity.

Agree he wasn't great at drafting but had a flair for moving players in from other clubs. Hence 2010-11. Would have been very interesting to the roster lol
