The way he skated on that PP back check certainly looked like something more than just tired, was really awkward.

He’s hunched over almost every time I see him.

The whole line was pretty trash tonight but he was just not even present.

Silly refuses to acknowledge it. Fück I’d have tried mcGinn up there rather than keep rolling that shït.

I know one coach who would sit him down.

All of this. Sully can't watch this tape every night and think it will work itself out. Rust is a shell.

Top line and top D pair were a stellar -19 tonight even with Sid scoring. I don't see how Sully can honestly not react to that.

Those guys that signed long term are looking to pad their bank accounts and then ride off into the sunset with FWS......Fat Wallet Syndrome. No desire No passion Most look like they are following the lead of Kasperi the friendly ghost. Send Kappy a sandwich he is hungry. Bad mistake bringing back all the geezers and now for the near future there is no chance of getting out from these horrible contracts. Maybe they can dump some of the on to some unwary team, and we can get some young legs in the lineup.
I am glad I was able to witness 5 Cups and the first Penguin game ever in 67 but I am not enthused about the future of hockey any more in Pgh. It was a good run but could have been better. Now that ship has sailed and FWS has settled in. Attendance will fall and they will become a clone of the Steelers and Pirates Sad to watch.

No pride, no accountability. Like shoveling horsepoop into the tide.

No accountability is a staple of sullys. He has 1 guy that pays the price for mistakes and the rest are immune.

Rust sucks shift after shift and never gets benched or demoted. Kapanen (I can’t stand him) plays 1 bad shift and he’s stapled to the bench. No consistency and never has been.

Sullys more of an employee than a coach. Show up, don’t ruffle any feathers, say the same generic quotes and hope Crosby Malkin and McGinn get you some wins.

I really think Sullys main concern is not pissing of Sid. Sids biggest and maybe only downfall is his desire of repetition and routine. Maybe it would be good for him to have a guy standing behind him that isn’t scared to challenge him and break that up once in awhile.

Are we a speed team or not? If we are still a speed team, why is our fastest NHL defenseman in the AHL?

Didnt get back from the USA until last night and missed yet another game. However, I have Jake on my fantasy team....he was -5? what is going on with first line? I also have Zucker on my fantasy team and while I was away, and checking in on my fantasy team, he was f'n killing it the past few weeks. So the 2nd line is rolling and the 1st has gone to sh!t?

I think it was mentioned in a previous blog due to cap and roster implications there isnt a clear path for him to be called up...which is on Hex...

Sid just coasting while Rust was chugging along at 2 mph. Rust has to be hurt, he can't have slowed down that much in one offseason.
- Pags

I havent really watched much the past few weeks but Rust didn't look noticeably slower in all the games I watched before I left.

Was never a huge fan of Rust. Always felt he'd be a 3rd liner with a non elite C at best. His contract is ok, but he's 30 and not going to get better. With Malkin and Crosby fading off, Rust will fall off a cliff.
