Problem is lack of skill at the forward position. they can create chances but routinely bobble the puck or shoot wide. If your honest about it their forward group is a bunch of 3rd and 4th line players with maybe a couple of 2nd liners.....There isnt one guy who would be on the first line on a good team.

Good teams like to spread out the wealth. Konecny could play on a top line on a good team. Farabee could develop into a top line player.

They have to bury their chances no question but the Flyers have easily been the better team and the refs aren’t properly doing their jobs, which is derailing the work this team is putting in. Tippett should have got a penalty shot. Nick D didn’t interfere with the Ottawa player, the fact Deslauriers was standing where he was and the forchecking player didn’t or couldn’t skate around him wasn’t Deslauriers‘ problem.

And Konecny should have received a 5 minute boarding penalty...things even out..its not the refs its lack of skill at forward position

You answered the question...Konecny "could play" on the first line but he isnt a first line player...Farabee could develop but he isnt a 1st line player now. Like I said not a clear cut 1st line player on this team.

You're assuming something that wasn't said. Konecny has 16 points in 14 games including 11 assists. He is a first line NHL player. Is that clearer?

TK is totally a first line NHL player, even on a good team. However, he is not the best forward on a playoff team.

The context is not if he is the best forward on a playoff team. It's if he can play on a top line on a good team.

He’s been fantastic this year. After a couple years were by he seemed to regress. Hopefully he can continue this, because he’s currently their best player by a mile (except for Hart of course).

Absolutely he can. I think bee can be a first line player and is absolutely a top 6 forward. Have to remember the lack of skill these guys have around them right now. Tk has 16 pts and he’s had to be the main guy. Surround him with some skill and he’d excel.

Sell high. Get maximum value. Nice contract. Controlled this year plus 2 more.

I kind of think part of the idea of bringing torts in is to push the players with a view to seeing who is part of the answer moving forward. Hart tk bee provy have shown that they can be imo. Tippett is still up in the air. Cates looks promising. I think it’s foolish to have frost playing low in the lineup as we have to see what he can really be.

I’m kind of concerned about sanheims slow start but I think he can also be part of that group if he brings the game from late last year.

Well if they did trade him, I’d be asking for the moon. Otherwise, keep him and benefit from the nice contract and control.

The dreaded big contract curse for the Flyers. When was the last time the Flyers signed or re-signed a player and they actually performed better than previous years under their new contract?

I want to say Couturier, but I believe it took him a year or two.

Edit: I see Konecny progressed under his new contract then took a step back.

Flyers returning to mediocrity. No shock since Risto returned to the lineup, he is the new AMac and will hold us down for years with his unmovable contract. Certainly not the only one but this team will lose without all star calibre goaltending nightly, and even a lot of nights if we get it.

I really hope that it’s just a bump in the road for sanheim related to the new contract or coach. It’d really be nice to see him progress.

It’ll be mostly down I’d say. We’re going to have an 8 to 10 game losing streak. Hart is bound to regress to just very good and our offense will go stone cold coupled with a regression of the pk. We’ll be toast.

I’d put him on waivers. He’s clearly the weak link on the team.

Refs are doing what Flyers management show be doing - taking ND off the ice. I'm for anything that gets him off the ice.......
