Exactly, he has no idea how to deploy the blueline, he has this team dumping and chasing the puck too with all that skill.....Ottawa was outplayed badly yesterday for chunks of the game, Talbot bailed them out and the Sens capitalized on the PP, otherwise.....eeks. That wont happen all the time. First time this team has given up only one goal in a game this season.....

lets not forget Philly was missing 4 of their best players and are not exactly the Avs or Bruins this year

Very true, that is why when people say oh Ottawa is without Zub and Norris, so many teams are without their best players but still winning, that's what proper coaching and systems putting their players in a position to succeed does!

D parings form Sens practice.

Sanderson-Hamonic
Bernard-Docker-Brannstrom
Holden-Larsson

Sanderson and JBD know each other because they played together in North Dakota so I'd keep them together on a pair. Not much choice but to pair Hamonic with Brannstrom and Holden with Larsson. Not sure what the resistance to Thomson is about.

Last year when Chabot got injured Brannstrom played in the top pair but I have difficulty seeing Hamonic on the top pair so I'd try Sanderson and JBD on the top pair.

Don't know. Maybe the practice lineups are best but more than a little scary.

The forwards are going to have to learn to come back and help out and this means you, Brady!

Hey, common sense doesn't prevail in this coaches world....the fact that you are bringing up something about JBD and Sanderson, while the coach has completely whiffed on that idea, tells you all you need to know about DJ. Thomson played 22-23 min. a night when he was called up last year......go figure, he has been passed up by 3 players now on defense to be called up to Ottawa.

As for the forwards, they don't even play in small triangles on a simple breakout....but you are right, Brady really needs to come back more.....its a huge part of his game that he needs to be better at, but hey, we all know the coaching staff isn't coaching him up on it....

I guess Thompson hasn't looked great in Bellvegas this year. Heatherington hurt?

Surely there's a trade that can be made for a decent 5-6 guy.

So the boys on TSN praising the hit. Simpson saying he took down his tweet because he didn't want to waste his day. I guess there were more than a few fans expressing their displeasure with his take on the hit.

That was a dirty hit.

Now these a-holes on TSN are suggesting it was Chabot's fault for putting himself in a vulnerable position and Konecny just cut him in half. What the hell is going on with these guys? I know they don't like Chabot but they actually seem overjoyed that he's hurt and out of the lineup. Simpson's been peddling Sanderson as Ottawa's best D and so I guess he's happy that now he will be able to prove it.

Last time I checked the league frowned upon smoking and injuring a player who was in a vulnerable position but I guess that doesn't apply if the player plays for Ottawa.

It will be interesting to see how much ice time Sanderson gets now, and how he responds to this opportunity.

Ottawa playing a heavy team in NYI tonight, that also has what they call the best 4th line in hockey, they hit and hit! Yet they don't call up Heatherington a big body to clear the net, very bizarre.

Agreed, but as players who jump to 25 min. plus, the mental part of their game goes much faster due to the physicality their bodies take. Lets see how he responds.
