Meh, all in on average scoring forwards and cross your fingers the goalies figure it out.

Getting out from Miller would also be franchise changing, so add that to the list too
- NewYorkNuck

Agreed but I did say "don't deserve to be here".
Miller is #1 on my list to trade but I see him more of a deadline trade when teams do stupid shit for the playoffs. Horvat and Demko don't deserve to be tarnished by this filth any longer.

Some might say the best Top 9.

Oh yea poor innocent Demko and Horvat. They are absolved of the cancerous locker room and poor on ice performance by the team. Because reasons

No attachment to any of this garbage core. Will some of them thrive on other teams? Sure, but who cares because it won't happen here. Can't be afraid to move on from anyone just because you're afraid that they might play better elsewhere, that's how you get stuck with a poop core group of players in the first place.

Unfortunately it's going to be hard to make any major trades during the season, especially involving players with term still left on their contracts.

The summer should be a firesale though

Management needs to do what the lightning and Avalanche did when things weren't working. Use analytics to make team moves not individual ones.

If you mean 1st and 2nd rounder then I agree, if you mean top 10 picks then I think you need to rethink that option.
Not many non-playoff teams, will be willing to give up a shot at one of these high-end kids.

- Reubenkincade

They haven’t had extra picks in the first and second rounds like for years. Would be amazing.

At this point you just have to do whatever you can to create as much cap flexibility for the future while also having a surplus of picks. That's the path to real change. Way easier said than done though with most of the league right up against the cap.

It was easier to do back when there were compliance buyouts giving dumb gm's a reset button every 4 or 5 years.

Hard but not impossible. It will just take some balls. Whatever they do, the PR can't be any worse than it is now.

Pretty sure that only happened once

Canucks bought out David Booth and Keith Ballard.

Whoops. You're right. But teams were granted two of them during two off-seasons in a row. That's a massive free reset button to hand out along with the cap going up. Tons of money just pumped into the market.

Kind of like covid handouts and inflation

Was thinking more like Kapanen, or some other moderately effective middle six winger. To replace Pearson.
- 1970vintage

Pittsburgh fans have been trying very hard to dump Kapanen. I think that would be like jumping out of the pot and into the fire.

The Canucks 1st rounder will be plenty high. They do still own it don’t they?

They should still be trading for additional 1st round selections even if they end up being in the 20’s.

What if it was Boeser for Kapanen? Maybe try and get them to add a 2nd.
