Tage and Olofsson are the only players we have with the ability to beat a goalie at any time. Dahlin needs a good screen, but he can make 10 shots a game for himself if he wants to.
There is not another gifted offensive player on the roster if Jeff Skinner is taking the night off as he has a dozen times this year already.
For a team with tons of small, "skilled" forwards we sure have a lot of guys who can't score on Madonna right now. - lacaprup
That happens over small sample sizes no doubt.
If Quinn-Cozens-Peterka turn in many more efforts like they did last night though the goals will come. |

That's it, we have a lot of the same kind of player's, especially at Wing. They lack finishers right now. Hopefully Quinn starts to hit the twine with some more time with Cozens and JJ. Still could use another, but they might have that in Rochester. Do you use the over abundance of the same kind of Wingers to add a finisher or do you wait and hope the guys in Rochester keep developing. IMO I think they should use those pieces on a top RD. |

5 straight losses.
Same old team - sbroads24
This is such a bad take.
Youngest team in the league with a 41 year old goalie. We finally have a team that plays good night in night out and its the same old team?
If only we had Eichel š

Oh yeah, I'm going to say it. My seats are top row of the 100 level directly behing the opposition goalie 2x. I literally had the best view of the Tage goal after Boston's goalie.
Mario against the Minnesota North Stars was what came into my head. It is the best live goal I've ever seen, and you could see it coming from the moment he stole the puck. Next level shlt. This kid is the truth. |

I would think thatās the likely scenario.
Mittelstadtās days are numbered here as well and they do have three second round picks this year they can flip as well in the right trade.
This is not the draft to trade your first rounder though. |

I think skinner needs tuch and tuch needs Thompson. Just not the same players when not together.
Skin-Giraffe-Tuch
Peterka-Cuz-Quinn
Pick out of a hat
Girgs-Asplund-Okposo
That first line and 4th line I would not touch. Just guys that seem to play there best hockey when there together. |

There a young team, they have played good in spurts. Thought they played good for basically the whole game last night. But they could easily be 4-11 too. |

We're really missing the 21-goal Kyle Okposo from last year who forchecked and created some opportunities while score goals occasionally.
Need more from him.
Edit: and last year's Jeff Skinner.
Those two things might really be what's angering me about them. Might have a breakthrough here. |

No it isn't, well I would for the right player and that 1st would be protected top 5-10 even so. |

The Sabres were not as good as their 7-3 start, and nowhere close to as bad as this recent 5 game slump.
If they got a point last night and in Tampa and were sitting 7-6-2 right now instead of 7-8 we would be singing a different tune.
The degree of luck and randomness of the last 5 games will start to go back in the other direction as long as they continue to play well at 5v5.
Our PP relying on Tage and Olofsson to shoot well above expected though is a recipe for disaster. |

This is as deep as a first round that weāve seen since 2015.
Any of Bedard, Fantilli, Michkov, Carlsson would have gone 1st overall easily last year and there is a lot of depth behind them.
If they move this years first, it needs to be a slam dunk trade |

While the team is different, this fan base needs to raise the bar a little other than āthey try hardā who cares if they lose.
Fans need to get over Eichel, itās embarrassing at this point. |

They have played 9 backups already, Carolina and Tampa started there backups against us. They have played very good in spurts. There goaltending got them atleast 3 wins. They haven't played to there record. |

I think the segment of the fan base you are referring to here is acknowledging that they are playing good hockey for the most part despite the losses, and if they can continue to play like this for the duration of the season, the wins will come when they arenāt snake bitten offensively and are getting a few more saves. |

The team, comparing to years past to the present reminds me of a hockey game...
Last many years the team has been trapped in their own zone with the only way to clear is with hope through a dump and chase zone exit. No transition game and certainly no controlled exits. Floundering..
Late last season and carrying over into this season, although rocky, is showing signs of zone exit with control turning into a decent transition game which leads to some nice offensive zone pressure...occasionally to be rewarded with a goal.
There is alot more work to do in becoming a strong offensive zone pressure team which generates higher percentage of; shots, high danger opportunities and goals while playing a strong 200' game.
It's a process of developing players and making smart trades to realize that team. Yet, IMO the direction is correct. |

Bills officials spent intensive time this past week listening to their doctors and other arm specialists, and the team was reassured that Josh Allen is not at any added risk to make the injury worse if he plays today against the Vikings, sources said.

Escalators going up to the 300 level broke right before the anthems last night. Anyone else get caught in that? I swear we have to have the worst in-game experience in the league, night in and night out. I've only ever been to Toronto and Vegas for away games, but I have to imagine that only Arizona would be worse at this point.
Much of my frustration and overreaction comes from trudging down there night after night and dealing with nonsense like that. While the team is rebuilding the off-ice product should be a no-brainer, but it's like they don't even care. Jumbotron is pixelate some nights and the shot counter is gone on occasion. Escalators breaking down going back to last season and the same soap dispenser in one bathroom is broken going on two seasons now. Spilled beverages aren't cleaned up on the regular in the stands and there is a broken seat in the row behind me. The whole switching to smaller beer cups on busier nights is just scummy. I realize that a lot of this is on erie county and Delaware North, but do the Sabres not have any say in this whatsoever? They're okay with this standard? Do they even care? As pissed as I get that attendance is still poor, if I am being honest I can't blame people.
I realize that progress and growth aren't always linear and we are seeing some great things on the ice so far this season. Tage's transformation might be second in franchise history only to Hasek. Power looks to be ahead of where Dahlin was during his rookie season; he's going to be scary good. Speaking of Dahlin, he's finally put it all together. Cozens is turning into that pain in the ass 2-way center we knew he could be. Peterka is a keeper.
That being said, there are still 6 of the same guys on this team, we aren't physical or tough to play against and I can't stomach thinking that we're still 2-3 seasons away from being relevant again. We only have half a team at this point, so I don't know guys. For all those preaching patience, haven't we been patient enough?

I think the game day presentation has gotten better (Atleast the videos have)
The lower the swords thing is neat
I hate the how loud the warmup music is and I hate how loud the goal horn is to notify people the Sabres are back on the ice
Itās getting better ā¦.. the last few years was god awful.
They did a 90s night though. Perfection music and video wise.
So it can be done |

Really? Okposo has sucked all year and is slow. So if you miss someone that canāt skate anymore. Gets stripped off the puck and get get shots off
Sure. We miss that guy
The team overall looked a lot faster without that boat anchor |

Ain't that the truth? And, that's with you assuming Quinn and Peterka make it, which is a major assumption. A 5 year plan means to me your carrying hardware at the end of the 5 years. We are going to end year 3 at the bottom of the Eastern Conference if changes are not made and nobody in the organization gives a poop.
And, then thay slap us in the face with the game presentation fit for a high school team. Kevin Adams and his staff are amateurs. It shows all over the organization. |

The Avalanche won a cup in Mackinnonās 9th season and weāre mostly irrelevant for the first 7 years.
How many years did it take for the Capitals to finally win one and they had Ovechkin and Backstrom for how long ?
How long did it take for the Lightning to get Stamkos and Hedman a ring ?
This whole 5 years to hardware thing is fundamentally flawed.
The leafs canāt get out of the first round of the playoffs yet they bottomed out and rebuilt as cleanly as one can possibly could. |

I actually heard 2 to 4 weeks too, but it was dependent on what the Arm Specialists came away with. I am surprised that he might play. But the Bills know he's there Franchise and doubt they would harm that for 1 game. |
