My body is breaking down, and the kids are just too busy for me to dedicate enough time to being fully ready for the Pro game

Memories - Stripes77
Hot Take. No Sabres fan under traditional retirement age lived in an era where this team was better than it was during the goat head era. If you were born during or after it, this team wasn't good at all. The only exception was the '07 Presidents Trophy team, which pretty much underachieved come playoff time, and was the swan song of an era. |

early 90's teams were pretty damn good, if LaFontaine and Mogilny don't both get hurt in 93 I think we go to the cup.

The best chance this team ever had of winning a cup was 92-93 IMO. If Mogilny doesn't break his leg in Game one against Montreal we win the Cup. Damn shame.
But as far as sustained good teams year after year, the Lindy Ruff ugly uniform teams are the best post 1970s Sabres teams. |

Yeah that really isn't a hot take
The early 90's teams underperformed come playoff time constantly
99 and 05-06 were the best runs anyone like you said under traditional retirement age has seen.

Playoff performance is part of the equation though. I've heard a few people make this claim about the 92-93 team. I kind of remember it, but I was still very young. I went to the May Day game.
I went back and looked up the standings. That team finished 16 points behind Montreal for 4th in the Division, and that's with LaFontaine and Mogilny putting up career years and the luxury of beating up on a lousy Hartford team and an expansion Ottawa team multiple times a year. 6 of those 8 playoff teams ended in overtime. I'm not questioning they were good, but I'm not sure how much better they were than the rest of the league with those figures. |

No, it sounds to me you only like the eye test and counting stats.
Take some time and read up on various advanced stats rather than dismissing
- IonSabres
Use of advanced stats is generally done incorrectly
All it does for most ppl is gives them more info to misinterpret |
