Just imagine brining these kids up, who thrive on the PP, and then not using them.

They need to break there isolationist mantra and try and cause a spark. It's nice to have a great prospect pool, but what's the use of having it if you can't make decisions quick enough. Be different if it was a old team and had a bunch of spots available. But being a very young team you only have so many spots to evaluate because your still developing your young Core. Sabres don't have 3yrs to evaluate, there are a lot of prospects coming in the next couple years.

NEWS: The #CBJ have placed Nick Blankenburg (fractured ankle/high ankle sprain, 6-8 weeks), Jakub Voracek (upper body, indefinitely) and Sean Kuraly (upper body, day to day) on IR. Also, Zach Werenski (shoulder) is expected to miss the rest of the season.

Yikes, is there a move to make with Columbus since their season is basically shot already and they'll be in the running for Bedard

McDavid with another unreal goal yesterday.

Do you think he ever gets bored just being that much better than everyone else?

Hope they stick with that top 6 for the rest of the season. Might be time to accept that they just don't have the guys to roll 4 lines.

Watching Kulich and Rosen shoot, you just know they drafted VO's replacement. Just need to find a team who doesn't look at analytics.

I think the fact they gave Olofsson only two years was the tell that his days here were numbered

Oooof, the Cat on pace for 13 G's. Better on the A side with pace at 57 apples.
Seems to be missing Kane, like many thought could be the case.
$9m QO. He needs to pick up his finishing to triple his G pace.

Somebody cried crocodile tears all summer over not going after the cat.

That Guy (not thatguy) looks foolish right now.

He'll move onto another love affair soon.

Until Girgensons scores 11 points this year, then come back and talk. Until then you keep stroking your Girgensons Bobblehead.

It's crazy how miserable you are day in and day out.
Pessimistic sabres fan #1.
You love when the Sabres fail.

KA has a 5 year plan to compete, we're only on year 3. Most rookie GM's get 4 transition years, this is normal.
- Lunaion

So, at the end of year 5 we're holding a cup? On what planet? If his bigtime 5-year plan is to finally be at the 50% point, just slipping into the playoffs, at year 5. Yeah, no one signed up for that. We're in year 3 of 5. Progress should be leaping off the board. The only thing I see is two players #26 and #72 are keeping this team afloat. Two players Kevin Adams and his garbage staff have nothing to do with.

He has constructed the single worst stretch of goaltending in the team's history. That's somewhat impressive. He has continually found a way to siphon more money from fans at the arena without ever improving the experience. That certainly is impressive from a business standpoint.

He duped Tage Thompson into a contract, I'll give him that.

Tough to find the other silver lining. Maybe Sammy's contract, but he's injured now so that's a wash where we're sitting today, and it's still an unproven contract based upon his # of games played.

It's easy to keep saying future. It's also stupid. It also has nothing behind it. There is nobody in our system close who is exciting at all. At all. We have a bunch of useless Peyton Krebs clones in Rochester who aren't going to impact an NHL roster in a meaningful way for years if ever. Just like Peyton Krebs.

This is a 2 - 11 team without Dahlin and Thompson carrying them every night. Great job Kevyn, Jason, and Sam. Thank god your analytics department "targeted" Comrie.

The analytics also avoided Jack Campbell.

Goalies are voodoo and committing long-term to one 9 times out of 10 blows up in one’s face.

Comrie at his current contract is being paid 1B money anyways. It is hardly a miss.

KA’s extensions of Tage and Samuelsson got a lot of eye rolls by the mainstream media but early indications are that both will be good contracts.

Dylan Cozens is breaking out this year as expected, Power looks the part, and Quinn/Peterka are already better than half the forwards on the roster and they have combined for a cup of coffee at the NHL level and will improve as they can experience.

If the first 14 games are a sign to come, this will be the best team this decade.

I’m out of touch ? Buddy you shoot like 20% from the floor. The only guy you have bragging rights over for takes on this board is Boss, if anyone.

The Sabres are running a cap floor team, have the youngest roster in the league, and are playing about dead even at even strength since the last time they made the playoffs.

This is an average hockey team that although won’t make the playoffs as currently constructed, will play entertaining games down the stretch.

Feel free to meltdown every day on this blog though and call into WGR every other morning like a pubescent teenage girl because you can’t see the progress being made here.

Just because you seek instant gratification and define success as playoff or bust this year, yet can’t see the majority of the core is under the age of 23 and the Sabres have a very bright intermediate future, isn’t a me problem.

So, what's the success look like at year 5 again?

Who here signed up for year 5 being, maybe, a playoff spot?

And, yeah my takes are 20%? Really, funny how it was me v. The entire board last week when I said Comrie sucked during the Tampa game (in fact i got a mini ban that night) Tide turned quick on that one, eh?

How's Ville Husso doing right now? How's Ulmark doing? Analytics baby. Who needs goaltending when you have Jason Karamanos?

Your takes are 100% crap 1000% of the time. But your expected takes...man they're awesome.

Bad thing is they probably aren't relying that much on analytics at this point with goaltending. It's more about the 2 cents on the Dollar Adams is willing to pay a goaltender. Analytics helps guide Adams, they don't sign the contracts.
