Why TF did we not pick up a bottom pair d-man why are we playing AHL guys still this is turrible. And Krebs actually stinks at Hockey, I've seen harder shots from house league players.

Ottawa leveraged their future to try and take the next step too soon and are (frank)ing garbage. why are people mad the sabres didn't put themselves in the exact same boat ottawa did?
- robz228

So making one trade and giving up one of the three firsts last year and a prospect makes the Sabres Ottawa?

Is this the same as don’t make a trade because Tim Murray made bad trades kind of thing?

what makes you make this claim though? thompson last night looked like a superstar. he has for a bunch of games now.

Dahlin is dahlin. Power is controlling play at 19 years old. They have the blueprint of a nashville with maybe a higher end 1c than nashville ever.

Goalie is a problem. Everything else as it currently stands projects extremely well.

- robz228

Nashville backed their way into one Stanley Cup Final when all was said and done. It's not a championship formula. I have zero issue with Tage Thompson. I have issues with what comes after him up front.

No, not really they have a lot of the same type players. They need a few more finishers.

Yes yes it does. You know we only have so many prospects that the way they are handling a couple right now, we won't evaluate half of them.

Apparently cozens deflecting in 3 goals in the last 2 games and Bryson got one too

Constitutes bad goaltending.

That happened to Miller all the time. I don’t think anyone called for his head

Better teams have won with worse goaltending. While it could be better, it's not what's costing them, so far. Whether that holds throughout the year is a different question.

Wish I would’ve taken that ride out to check the surf/see how wrecked the beach was yesterday morning. Would’ve been really cool to see this.

The same guy bashing the Comrie signing probably wanted Campbell whose already being sat for Stuart Skinner 15 games into a long-term deal.

Sometimes the best moves are the ones you don’t make.

Other than Skinner, name me a long-term mistake on the books currently ?

Those Samuelsson and Tage deals are looking quite good (albeit its quite early). Damn KA and Ventura

I think a lot of anger would dissipate if Adams would come out and explain why he's doing nothing. Why we should all be happy with Comrie. Why none of our forwards will check defensemen into the boards. Why none of our forwards not named Tage will crash the net for a goal. Why we have duplicates of all these soft forwards in the minors. What exactly is the forward group they're trying to build?

Hiding away and saying "process" means squat when you haven't made the playoffs with Tyrod playing QB.

Adams, Ventura, Karamanos have built a good ole fashioned Buffalo tire fire. Not the worst one we've had. Dahlin and Thompson prevent that all on their own, but the smoke is black and thick. And, the natives are now restless.

It was kind of akward feeling good about the organization for almost 10 months in a row. At least that's over.

If we're going down this path, then I'm amazed that the rath hasn't somewhat fallen at the feet of the team leaders, guys who wear a letter...more specifically Okposo, Girgenson and Tuch (no letter).
Girgs and Okposso don't consistently contribute enough on the ice production wise, and we should question their in game leadership.

Personally, I still lean toward the fact it is a relatively young team in terms of experience (age too)...but they should understand when it is time to play like your hair is on fire in a game like this and make sure Eichel would need a maintenance day to recover from the game last night.
As far as that goes, I do seriously question the player leadership.

KA has a 5 year plan to compete, we're only on year 3. Most rookie GM's get 4 transition years, this is normal.

Speaking of Tuch, other than constantly turning the puck over yesterday he has been pretty much AWOL for a while now.

Playing with 4 AHL D the Sabres played 2 really good periods against the best team in the league, all while giving a returning player 2 breakaways which were stopped.

It is pretty obvious the Sabres aren't going to start making trades for depth defensemen, and they're pretty set that they're still in a development mode this season.

Being 7-3 to start the season was just happened to be how some bounces went. They probably have only played 2 or 3 really good complete games all season.

It stinks that it felt like a carrot was being dangled over our head of a good team after the Western Road trip. But they're not there yet. Unless Adams comes out and makes a trade, we shouldn't expect that they are pushing for making the playoffs. If they make the playoffs, it's a happy biproduct of the players developing and starting to win.

and we're in an absurdly stacked division that has 2 teams aging out and 1 team one more playoff loss away from an implosion

this was strategically not the year to go for anything. it sucks that we're already in the longest drought ever, but its smart to have it continue.

Oooof, the Cat on pace for 13 G's. Better on the A side with pace at 57 apples.
Seems to be missing Kane, like many thought could be the case.
$9m QO. He needs to pick up his finishing to triple his G pace.

Two things in this
1) we are missing Samuelsson and joker. So you are going to continue to have AHL level dmen in your lineup even after injuries. Plus 99.9% of this fan base is done with Joker. No team is ever 100% healthy either.

2) this team screams development then throws vinne Hinistroza on the top line because why? Why not Quinn,Peterka, Krebs.

You can tout it as development or whatever you want. 14 games in and the fanbase is questioning the roster decisions for players they are supposed to be developing. It’s a year where winning is not a priority and drafting high is perfectly acceptable.

Or he just doesn't fit there and might have worked better with Cozens or Krebs. Or it's 10 games in and he hasn't found his rhythm yet.

I wouldn't say that, they didn't help, either did the forwards. Comrie let in 2 really bad goals on bad rebounds. Had a couple deflected. 3rd period was bad, they just imploded.
