Any commissioner's job is to #1 make money for his owners because that is who he works for. Bettman has had his job for a long time. They must love him.

He has, for the most part, been able to make deals that have increased the value of the product and make the owners a lot of money. He is good at that.

That being said, any line of a product that continually costs more to produce that it sells for (the Coyotes) is not profitable to the company as a whole (NHL)and usually becomes discontinued or sold to another company (New Location).

Adams made Ullmark an offer that was equal money wise to Boston's offer, just not the term. Ullmark chose term.
So, the shot at making sure there is money for Krebs is misplaced.
