Okay again one is playing 7min a night and the other is playing 20min a night. Like I keep saying, would it have worked, who knows. But for a 5th, it was worth a shot. He really isn't blocking anyone of significance and it just might have worked. We are a young team, isn't trying to fit other young players into that and seeing if they fit what you are building. In no way would bringing in Bear screwed up the depth of are D, but there was a possibility he might just make it better.

My gripe with the trade wasn’t that they had to wait for rivals to weaken.

My gripe was:

A) You can count the amount of times on two hands in the last 30 years that a known top 10 pick was traded for a roster player.

B) The trade didn’t come for an extension for said player. If Debrincant is not signed long term then what ?

That’s a lot of risk to assume moving a 7th overall pick in a draft when the league is getting younger every year and contributors on ELC’s are gold.

Now if the trade doesn’t work, Dorion would be out of a job regardless so what does he care. Moves made out of desperation can work out, but more often then not they don’t.
