He traded Trevor Linden for Bertuzzi, McCabe and Ruttu.
- golfingsince

That single trade makes him better than Benning?

No it doesn't. Benning has that trade beat by a Longshot, with the OEL/Garland acquisition.

He's not the smartest poster.
Yup, one of the best trades for the Canucks. Set them up for years.

Is he a winger?
- manvanfan

Doesn't matter, do you consider him undersized? He is a defenseman so it matters more.

Kinda like sending Dickinson and a 2nd, for Stillman.

Benning has been the worst, but this new group could end up with the title.

- Reubenkincade

This management group is far better. Boo hoo a 2nd. They can trade Kuzy for at least that. No chance benning could have won the Kuzy sweepstakes

Does it matter that Makar isn't a soft perimeter winger? Size and being soft would be how you use your own body.

Do you see any clips of Lekkerimaki throwing body checks or beating guys in board battles? Winning net front battles?

Boeser and Miller are the same size. Does that make Boeser any less soft?

Size and being Soft are two different things. Makar and Lek are the same size(though Makar has filled out since being 18 years old). As for whether or not he is soft, I can't find any decent sites that track hits, where he shoots from and TOI. I usually use Hockey-Reference, but it doesn't track HockeyAllsvenskan. Infact, I can't find much about him, including videos, beyond basic stats. If he was SHL right now, it would be much easier to get these stats.

The great Canuck fan tradition is fun to follow. The you know, Canucks suck; management is incompetent; and ownership is the problem.

Can you be small and play big? Can you be big and play small?

Lekkerimaki isn't playing to Makar's size even if they are the same size.

Show me these videos you are watching of him. I honestly can't find them. Other than an oldish article from earlier in the season, I can't find any information suggesting he is playing more than 3rd line/4th line minutes.

Would Horvat be a scoring machine if he had been signed?

Now unless they move someone else he can’t be it seems. This could be a Linden type situation in trade value. But the loss of Bo hole isn’t filled unless Canucks are a lotto team.

He was a scoring machine last season.

𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀 Faber 🔥🎙
@ChrisFaber39
Lekkerimaki’s confidence grew throughout the SHL season and looked more willing to go to the dirty areas as the year went on.

His evolving confidence showed with how much more he was shooting the puck in the second half of his season.

Lekkerimaki has a great shot and good hands, but the results for the 5-foot-11, 172-pound right-shot winger have yet to materialize. There are reports that Lekkerimaki has been more effective of late, although it’s not showing on the scoreboard.

How do we know what the team needs in a couple years? What players get traded between now and then. We always talk about BPA in here and he was our BPA, other teams apparently had him as a top 10 pick as well.
The only player picked within 15 picks of Lekkerimaki that I wish we picked is Pickering. and since he isn't a RHD it is a meh difference. Hell, Ohgren(who some people wanted instead) is getting more minutes and barely more effective.

Because you don't continuously build your team through soft wingers?

I don't know what to say if you can't see that the team is desperately lacking defenders and centers in the system. Even a winger who will go to the net would have been something nice to add to the system.

Projected World Cup rosters by Matt Larkin of daily face-off Cdn vs US
Huberdeau-McDavid-MacKinnon--------Gaudreau-Matthews-M. Tkachuk
Stamkos-Point-Marner ------------Robertson-J. Hughes-Kane
Marchand-Crosby-Batherson-------Connor-Eichel-Caufield
O’Reilly-Thomas-Stone-------B. Tkachuk-Larkin-Thompson
Barzal-----------Zegras

Toews-Makar--------Q. Hughes-McAvoy
Weegar-Ekblad------Slavin-Fox
Theodore-Pietrangelo-----Werenski-Carlson
Nurse--------Trouba

Jarry-------Hellebuyck
Kuemper-------Oettinger
Fleury------Demko

Forward groups pretty even. Canada has a least a few players that would be able to play the PK though. Defence groups pretty even as well. Goaltending huge edge to US though.
