I am not arguing that the Canucks should be signing him, I was saying that he is worth over 7 million.
BTW, I have been the one saying for a couple seasons, that this is a bad mix of players, and I am fine if they tear it all down.
You on the other hand, has only just discovered that it is a bad mix and I am the clueless one?

- Reubenkincade

Of course he is, he brings a lot to the table. I just don’t think it’s prudent to sign him given the history of the team struggling for eight years with him as a core piece. I didn’t want them to sign Miller either. I’ve been crying for a rebuild during the Benning years for the past six years. If you haven’t noticed that, you haven’t been paying attention.

I’ve been saying this Benning model of throwing poop against the wall to see what sticks for the past five years is the problem with the organization and it’s driven from the owner on down.

Yes Reuby was, because initially we were talking about Mikhayev’s contract and suddenly he switched to Bo Horvat’s contract, the two have nothing to do with each other.

My initial point still stands, Mikheyev’s contract has nothing to do with the woes of the current team. He’s providing the value he’s getting paid for.

Yes he would, I think that’s a good destination for him and their GM is in a position where he needs his team to be better quickly. Which means he’ll pay.

Short term, but they’ve got Norris, Tkachuk, Stützle, Giroux, Batherson and likely DeBrincat and Pinto on big money deals up front. They need another dynamic defenseman. They could use Karlsson back for a couple seasons

Hughes to Ottawa makes more sense. He’s buddies with Brady…

Horvat, Miller, Hughes and Boeser would all look good anywhere else that pays a first round pick with a few good prospects.

You recently said "there is no way Bo is worth 7m". So people remember that when you talk about other player's contracts on this team. So when you say Mikheyev and Boeser are worth their contracts but had said Bo isn't worth 7m, you are going to hear about your contradictions. It's not complicated Lefty.

It’s never been built with purpose, they’ve never had a plan through multiple management teams, this one included. Although, they haven’t been in place for very long, still, they all say they have a plan and then keep churning out the same crap.

Absolutely, 100%, he’s not worth 7+ million dollars…to the Canucks. That doesn’t mean someone won’t pay him that, heck, someone will probably give him 8+ million dollars. But that’s irrelevant. The team needs a rebuild, therefore, Horvat isn’t worth it imo.

If the Canucks were on the uprise I’d say pay him, but they aren’t!

You are flip flopping. You've said "no way" Horvat is worth 7M and you explained why and it had nothing to do with the status of the team. You explained what he lacks.... followed by Mikheyev and Boeser being worth their contracts in other past discussions based on what they provide etc... it's contradictory. Now you brush all that off and say it all had to do with the team's status.

Only in your mind, it’s like talking to a six year old where you have to explicitly explain what you mean to the utmost degree for them to understand anything. You swing it anyway you want to, to support your narratives.

Horvat isn’t worth 7 million for a lot of reasons…

The main issues is, the organization keeps believing they’re two or three pieces away from competing for a playoff spot. The reality is they’re nowhere close. When they show promise they sign players to help the group they believe is their core. The players salaries aren’t the issue, no one is currently grossly overpaid on the team.

They just need the wherewithal to tear it down and start building with a purpose. Like try and build a defensive core….maybe?
