They should be like the NFL and not have guaranteed contracts. You can terminate them at any time.
- Pacificgem

Pretty sure the NFL teams have slightly more lucrative and more contract power when negotiating compared to the NHL. Not comparible.

Walker III is having a beast of a game #Seahawks

Seahawks baby! Pumped. They're here in Germany next week (didn't win a spot for tickets sadly), but happy to get to go to a bar and watch them.

But man, Arizona and and their fans are such a joke, who the hell would cheer for the Cardinals? Bunch of losers, HYUGE losers some would say

Also, for all the music people... came across this on Insta: this guy found old recordings/tapes of 80s covers sung by Alvin & the Chipmunks (Walk Like an Egyptian, My Sharona, Always On My Mind) and played them at 16 RPM on a record player. The effect “revealed what was secretly the most important postpunk/goth album ever recorded”.

It's honestly really good

Plus, if you want to have a laugh, scroll through the YouTube comments:

I actually met Theodore at a bar in Joplin, Missouri a few years back. I've heard that when the band broke up back in '91 after Alvin's death, Theodore really took a toll as music was the only thing keeping him in relatively good health. It was evident, he looked like he was only being held together by pizza and heroin. I bought him a drink and we talked a little, though in bouts separated by long sessions of him disassociating. He told me about how his biggest regret was putting "his sweet Eleanor" on the black acid. Apparently, she came from a long line of alcoholics, so she already had a low tolerance to addiction. He reminisced on his love-hate relationship with his bandmates and vulgarly described Alvin's drug-dependency and lack of motivation and Simon's schizophrenic rants and violent episodes. I really believe their life complications really gave this project the authenticity and grit it's famous for. Sludgefest will go down in history as one of the best and we will never see anything like it ever again.

Big road trip starting tomorrow night.
If Canucks don't go at least 3 and 2, then they really need to reassess what they have here.
1 and 4 or 2 and 3, then I don't think they have a choice, but to start making some big changes.

I don’t think 3-2 is enough. If they follow that up with 0-4…

It’s an American thing/saying…you wouldn’t understand, nor should you, being a Canadian who rarely leaves his township let alone his country. “to where” is a common saying, as is “heck ya”, “yur good”, “I appreciate you”….and many others.

Funny. The music sounds like a Depeche Mode album.

I don't think 32 is enough either, but supercoach Bruce said that need to go 3-2.

Sad that the team is 12%into the season and are already in a spot that they need to play .630, just to be a bubble team.

Last I checked, the Canucks were a Canadian team, so using Americanese is kinda an odd comment on here.
Although, the team is loaded with underachieving Americans, so I guess I can understand your mentality, somewhat.

Cam Neely eating some good ole crow this morning, I wonder if he’ll be pressured to resign? The kid was 14 years old, a child, I mean, at some point he has to be given a second chance…if he shows he’s grownup and can truly apologize for his actions. Which I don’t think has happened yet.

The NHL won’t release the names of the kids who are currently playing in the NHL and committed sexual assault at the world juniors some years ago, allegedly, and that’s ok. Craig McTavish killed a young lady and went to prison but still had a long a successful NHL career. Apparently it’s ok in some instances to make poor decisions, and others, not so much.

Just have to chip away, 1 point gained per week on every team ahead of them in the standings. By the new year they should be in first place.

There’s at least three shootings every night on the news. It’s all gang or drug related in the same parts of the city.

Just need more citizens out at night with guns, that will stop the shootings.

Do you think that kid stopped at 14, or did it continue on?
Also, 1 of the kids from the world juniors hasn't been signed, and he is an NHL level player( Alex Formenton)
I assume the league has something to do with that.
MacTavish situation was in a different era, kinda like how goons are frowned upon nowadays.

Just read this…

“Contract Structure

There are two important concerns that must be considered when looking at an NFL contract.

First, almost none of an NFL contract is actually binding to the team. A player is not guaranteed the money he is promised when signing the deal. Only the money for the season being played is guaranteed.

The only part that the franchise is always on the hook for is the signing bonus. Thus, contract negotiations are often put on hold simply on the basis that a signing bonus be increased for the peace of mind of the player.

The rest of the contract is completely subject to player performance and injury avoidance.

Take, for example, the contract signed by Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson. Johnson inked a controversial four-year extension, averaging $13.4 million to go with a $10 million signing bonus.

Pro Football Talk breaks down the incentives required for Johnson to receive full payment for each year. Things such as rushing yardage and workout attendance dictate whether he gets full compensation.

Simply put, if Johnson were to suffer a career-ending injury or get cut, he would only receive his $10 million bonus along with his 2012 salary of $8 million. That's $18 million of a projected six-year, $56 million deal. Or 18 percent.

In the NBA, almost all money is guaranteed. Grant Hill received a seven-year, $93 million contract from the Orlando Magic. Despite playing only 47 games in his first four years of the deal, Hill eventually saw all of the cash.

In America's most popular sport, contracts yield far less than one would expect from these lucrative signings.“

Lefty, not an English major, nor good at some basic math skills. As an engineer, he must screw up a lot of his work.
