Whether Levi is ready or not is probably a moot point because if he thought he was ready he'd be here. It seems ludacris to me anyone would want to be a college goalie rather than starting for an NHL team, but here we are. It would take outside the box thinking from all sides to put Levi in a Sabre jersey this or next season, and that stuff ain't allowed. Losing the "smart" way is alwags the safest, most preferred option for losing entities. Taking a swing at it is hard. - lacaprup
Yet Quinn and Krebs should be down, all the while you support Levy, a college kid to be in the NHL.
Your logic gives me neck cramps and headaches. |

Yes could be from your blue line or 2ft in front of the net, there the same. - Buff36
Yup, both shots, must be the same. |

(Is it correct that) Even the “high danger” stat is flawed, in that it only considers the area shot came from, ignores other factors like whether the shooter had a Dman all over him, or if he was standing all alone tapping in a cross crease pass. |

Is it the same when OV or Okposo are shooting from the slot? It is and that is very laughable. Torts is right. |

I think the point a lot of people make is analytics in general are flawed. A shot is not at all the same coming off the stick of OV vs most players. I'm pretty sure Comrie would prefer Okposo shooting at him all day long rather than face a couple rips from OV. It is laughable how some of these stats can make a guy look much better or worse

Sure, but by using data where most goals are scored from in conjunction with shot locations on the ice can get you a much more reliable data then just looking at the shot clock and using simple Corsi. |

I haven't read up in awhile, but doesn't ixGF give consideration to the individual shooters' shot % to get closer? I could be way off base |

It does, but still not a perfect science.
When guys like Matthews and Tage are consistently scoring above expected though, it’s pretty easy to understand why that is |

All stats are flawed, period.
To disqualify one, should we disqualify them all?
Recognize their limitations and the general picture they paint...they provide more info and context...and certainly another set of questions.
Put them together to get a fair representation and with recognition some parts are flawed.
Or we can wear three fabric masks and two sets of underwear while driving alone in our car to buy gas and return home...all to thwart the pandemic by following science, lol. - IonSabres
🤔 but...
Wouldn’t following the stats be following “the science”

Your absolute fear to confront what I say rather than make up up poop I've never said is telling. Like richardroma level.
Krebs has failed at the NHL level so far. He is still eligible for Roch. Where did I say Quinn should go down; furthermore, we have more Quinn's than we can shake a stick at. We have forward options, so sending Quinn down is at least an option. He's nothing more than an extra part right now.
Maybe this is hard for you to grasp, so im going to use bold and caps.

So all shots are the same in terms of scoring chances then.
Got it! Lol.
No difference between a Dman's retreating shot from the blue line
Vs
A Left wing cross ice pass through the slot to an open RW in the crease.
(Comrie stopped 9 of 10 of these variety, but he sucks)
Laughable. - IonSabres
When Comrie has some slug blast two point blank shots right into him Saturday night why are those high danger chances? Oh yeah, because they were in close. It has nothing to do with the fact a 4th line slug just shot two pucks right into Comrie I could have saved.
Why don't you tell me next what a great fielder IKF was for the Yankees this year? So amazing he was yanked in the ALCS. Yet expected nonsense and defensive WAR say he was a fancy defender at shortstop. |

You assume I haven't becaue I disagree with with your analysis, yet I NEVER have to misconstrue your opinion and you always have to mine. Hmph.... |

I think Krebs has actually played okay if you watch him. He is quick. Makes some nice passes.
I think Quinn is flat out too slow. He falls on the ice all the time. So not strong on feet.
Problem is The only way they get up to speed is by playing nhl games and playing at that speed |
