I think when the team proves they have real promise, and need a piece to get them to the next level, he'll do what he needs to do to get them there.

He did his job this summer, filled the gaps and is allowing his young talent to grow, as repeatedly promised.

Isn't looking for a defenseman after 3 injuries reactive, not proactive?

I'm generally with Cong on this. System is all F's and no D. Challenge is going to be selling high on a F for a D, ideally next summer. Easy to say sell high, buy low. Very difficult to do, while preaching vibes and want to be here. They drafted themselves into a very strange spot.

Sabres are trying to develop and put pieces in place to be a Championship Team. Sabres have a lot of young D man, 3 or 4 are probably no more than 6 or 7 D . They really have no one coming up maybe Lindgren, but that's a ways away, if Johnson walks there really f@cked. I really don't understand the flake from people if they would have tried Bear or if they traded for Holl. Maybe they work or maybe they don't. Really doesn't hurt you to find out other than a 5th and 3.6mill in cap, I know that hurts and only leaves us 16m under the ceiling, damn were Broke!! Hell might get Lucky and 1 of those pieces fit nicely and damn you got a cheap Dman and a pick to boot. We are developing and building, doesn't mean you stop trying to find better material.

We are 10 games in with a winning record. Let’s see how this month pans out and go from there.
