I cannot believe a guy sat on here all of last night arguing with people about how he has better things to do than sit on this blog all night arguing with people.

Let's call it
+$5m for Dahlin ($11m total)
+$5m for Cozens ($6m total)
+$6m for Power ($7m total)
That's +$16m

Dump Okposo and Girgs, that is -$8m savings, couple with Bishop's $5m for a total of $13m to fund those contracts, leaving them around $16m under the Cap ceiling.

Cap is a non issue, even if they bring in $10m player

- IonSabres

Of course they aren't dumping both girgensons and okposo this offseason.

Someone mentioned something about bozo's not liking girgensons. Could be you they were referring too?

Dump girgs and okposo and add sam reinhart.

it's literally impossible to have a hockey conversation with you when you do this

A 12 game sample size is definitely a large enough sample size to make inferences about a player….

If the hockey gods monitored these threads they would extend the drought another decade

It's kinda 15% of the season right?

The football gods are shining down on your Denver broncos for the next 5 years.

You wanted a decent qb for your formula to work.
Hows running the ball working? Good defense?

YOU GOT RUSSELL WILSON πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

If Russ was average the Broncos would be 5-2 right now.

Problem is as he hasn’t.

They have both played well for the most part this season, both way over paid but Sabres needed to throw money away on them.
Okposo, 1 year $2m or less...ok. when they named Okposo Captain, they more or less tied themselves to him for another year...just make the contract proper.
Girgenson 1 year at $750k, sure...he can then play the Vinny role next season.

Take the savings and go invest in a Tuch clone for the long haul

I'd say the cap is a consideration in 2 years. Lot of deals are up then. VO, Mitts, Krebs, Dahlin, Power, Joker, Bryson, Comrie + any 1 years deals this offseason. Have to make some real decisions before then.

We weren't having a hockey conversation though.

36 acting like we found something in clague/ sabres defensive depth.
36 wanted to trade for bear. Which would have not allowed us to trust our own depth and not add 2m more.

Unfortunately for you, sam reinhart and your 100% love for him can never be overlooked. It's your hockeybuzz legacy defending him.

Think before you post, if you're actually trying to have a hockey conversation and not dig at another poster.

Over/under on the number of players from your named list of 7 that will still be a Sabre after 2 seasons = 2.5.

I'm betting the under.

Added Joker, forgot to scroll down to IR.

I'd bet under too, but would be much happier to hit the over. I still think they need almost a 50% turnover.

Broncos could miss the playoffs for the next 10 years for all I care, the Super Bowl they won when I was 20 can’t be taken away from me.

Still don’t see how this is relevant to a discussion on small sample size bias

who are the core players for the next 3 years, that is what they need to figure out

up front
tage
skinner by default
tuch
cozens
probably quinn and peterka

on D
dahlin assuming he signs an extension
power
samuelsson

that's it IMO
probably lump savorie in the mix up front

so lots of decisions to make

esp when you do not have your goalie prospects under contract
johnson is not under contract

is casey a long term fixture?
is krebs?
is joker?
is bryson?
is asplund?
is comrie?
is 6k?
is olofsson?
is girgens?
is asplund?

per espn

Bills inactives vs. Jets: CB Tre'Davious White, S Jordan Poyer (elbow), LB Matt Milano (oblique), RT Spencer Brown (ankle), TE Tommy Sweeney. White will wait another week to make his return from a torn ACL. He was brought back to the 53-man roster this week.

Imagine we have similar thoughts on all of this. I'm not buying UFA year on Joker, Mitts, or VO (any more years), so I'd move them all at the first good opportunity.

Some interesting decision on bridge vs long term on others. I wouldn't extend the old guys more than 1 year.

Comrie, UPL, Levi is a real competition.

quote from wgr550 article from game last night

2.) Be even more aggressive

The Sabres have shown a new-found grit this year, when it comes scrums at the end of a period or after the whistle. But for some reason, this doesn't seem to always happen during the game itself.

There were many instances in Saturday night's game where the Sabres were easily being pushed around by players like Pat Maroon and Corey Perry with almost no push back.

One key component to every playoff contending team is the one or two players who come up with big hits at big times.

Ah, you're assembling the team.

I usually post what the Sabres are actually going to do.

Make okposo captain/ keep girgensons as alternate.
Extend them.

You're being silly paying a vet league minimum after earning every penny of an almost 2 million per current deal.

I get the trolling, starting to look like a bogo, the way gurgs is playing
