It's tiring to hear fans making excuses for pro athletes. Canes won but were covered for a loss because they were playing back to back. If they hadn't played in a week they would have been rusty. Truth of the matter is they are payed very well to play through being tired, sick or injured.
It's time for a change Every player should have to come clean before every game and claim how tired, sick or injured they are so us gamblers can make some safer informed bets. It's too late after the game getting all this information from the fans.
FYI I heard Anderson had a touch of the flu last night and I can only wish he made that public 24 hours ago.

That's kind of funny. No doubt it would have been nice to know the team had their rookie dinner after the Vancouver game before the Seattle game.

but he was a kid himself, not under nhl contract
how many NHL players have done very bad things and still played, a bunch
I mean MacTavish, as an NHL player, killed someone and served a year in jail and back to the NHL and he is still there today - homiedclown
I think this is where you're looking at a difference of making a one time mistake versus making a mentally challenged kids life a living hell for 2 plus years.
I understand what you're saying about a second chance, but you have to earn that second chance first in my opinion

Miller maintains that his court-mandated apology letter was read to the Meyer-Crothers family - homiedclown
"court-mandated" being forced to do it and actually meaning it, two different things
Nick Foligno on the Mitchell Miller signing: "It's hard for us to swallow."
More to come.

Foligno on the Bruins' signing of Mitchell Miller: "It’s tough. It’s a hard topic. The organization is not going to do something that would jeopardize (the team’s culture), but in saying that, it’s not something that anyone in this room stands for."
More Foligno: "It was a tough thing to hear for our group. I'm not going lie to you. I don't think any guy was too happy because of how proud we are to say that this is a group that cares a lot about ourselves and how we carry ourselves and how we treat people."
So I guess I just don't understand why you would even think about a distraction like this when your team is buzzing

how many kids did we see get bullied on a regular basis in jr high and high school, a lot
he was a scum bag back in jr and high school, probably still a scum bag
but that doesn't mean if an nhl team wants to take a chance on him, he should be denied

this is assuming the victims family is being honest
could also be an attempt for a cash grab down the road as I doubt the other guilty minor was offered an nhl contract nor drafted by an nhl team, or any other professional sport

What I never understood is why athletes get punished for bad behaviour while musicians get rewarded. I am not buying it. Cardi B admits to robbing men in hotel rooms when she was younger and her music is now everywhere.
A hockey player gets accused of something and he is released from his contract and doesn't matter if its true or not. If you want to be bad be a musician

The kid was 14. Cancelling his entire life is absurd. Let him make some money and give some of it to his victims or to organizations that want to help.
At 14 the parents should be held accountable more than the child.
