Apparently they had some people at that last embarrassment against NJ?
- VanHockeyGuy

It must piss off FA that he can't charge the scouts for tickets.

Not even close... and a big part of his fighting success was surprising his opponent by lunging and closing the gap with first strike. I understand this very well as it was one of the reasons I laid out so many bigger and older guys when I was a teen. I used my extremely quick round house for that.

Hopefully KB3 kicks the change room into gear.

He was just asked if Hughes is the best offensive defenseman in Canucks history. KB answered "Didn't you see those two passes he put into my skates?".

Exactly.

A goalie of Demko's caliber can steal games like he showed last year. Everyone expects the same under the horrid team D so far which can be unfair to him. I'm hard on Demko but at the same time understand what the expectations of a 'world class' Goalie should be and that includes 2-3 GPG allowed and in today's NHL THAT will give your club a chance to win and steal some games. Allowing 4-5 per night like Demko has been tells me he's still off and battling something. But the kid has a strong Psyche and expect him to bounce back huge.

I'd fall down trying to do a head height round house these days.

From 15 to 22 y/o, knew or ran into only a small few who were as quick. I got more powerful after that but it wasn't as effective as the speed edge I always had when I was younger. Besides, I hit like a hammer when I was in that 160 late teenager class anyways....

He wasn't the most talented player but the guy had a lot of heart. Many times called the best "pound-for-pound" fighter in the league. He certainly wasn't a heavy-weight and picked his spots but the team sorely misses a guy like him.

I agree. Maybe tonight’s celebration is a prelude to a coaching career, ala St. lLouis.

Sutter when asked about the status of Tanev for tonights game. I don't think it is the coach's job to give info to the other team.

Not practicing for a couple days misses the morning skate, must have been Francis that asked the question.

Don, you are wrong about me "hating" Bieksa. My beef was always with the people that surrounded him with a undeserved reputation and it's a hill I'll die on. He wasn't the leader that many people claim nor was he as good defensively, or a hero for his team mates when he fought like so many think. He was more selfish than people believe. I liked that he fought. I loved his sense of humor. But on the other hand, his troll routine every round of the playoffs in front of the cameras during intermissions was selfish. He cared more about himself when he dished out billboard material over and over and eventually, after people defended it throughout the run to the final, agreed with me when it blew up in his face against the Flames. But that was Bieksa in a nutshell... Looked like he was always thinking TV personality even when the team was focused on the run to a cup.

He is/was what he is/was and I'm ok with that mostly.

You thinking someone who doesn't follow the group think on him is hate is not surprising at all.

Right on cue like a performance. As soon as the camera turned on, up he stands to take his "lead" role. Not spontaneous at all...

Knowing this team, anything he said about culture went through one ear and right out the other

The players of today, and society in general, just aren’t the same. It’s very much a me, me, me culture out there…..everywhere. The Bruins are one of the last old-school cultures out there in the NHL today.

It’s something you build over time, not from one speech. Hopefully it resonated with some of them though.
