You sure love your goofy narratives... but you are a Alex Jones fan so...

I think if you're going full rebuild, you trade Demko (assuming there is a good return). Demko is good enough to steal you games, and if the point is to bottom out, you need a goalie that's not going to stand in the way.
- NewYorkNuck

But Loady said you build from the goalie out. If you have a goalie that can stop the puck that is. 4-5 GPG don't cut it regardless of how poopty the D is right now.

You should be more sensitive, there's a good chance there are some pillow biters in here.

There was a reason Bieksa said what he said yesterday.
Him and Bo are friends and Bo asked him if he could mention some things.
Boeksa also said about 6 or 7 forwards and at least 3 defensemen have to be leaders, it was a pre-planned arrangement between 2 friends.
Bo showing his leadership.

I think it's unreasonable to send a player like Demko to a divisional rival.
- NorthNuck

Why?

I may have my details crossed but I thought when Bieksa was traded he said something along the lines that it had to be Ana to be with Kesler or another Cali team? I really can't remember.

I do remember though for sure year after year him on the trade list of most Canucks fans.

I do know I missed the time where he went from scape goat to Canucks legend. I guess time really does heal all things

Loui and OEL don't give up hope.

I really do like Bieksa the commentator.

Depends on what you mean by rebuild. If you're keeping Petey and Hughes, by the time you're hoping to be competing, Demko will still be in his prime with the team you trade him to.

Personally I think you keep him and just be content with the fact that you have your G position covered for many years.

- NorthNuck

Anaheim probably thought the same with Gibson but he tailed off fast and his contract is not so desirable.

Most teams opt out of it, for obvious reasons.

I think he is referring to adding a NTC/NMC onto the new contract, which is an allowable practise.

If they did a proper rebuild, traded Demko, Horvat & Miller, they’d hope to be good again in five years, I’m guessing. Petey would be 28 and Hughes would be 27. Demko would be 31 and passed his prime.
- Pacificgem

31 is still a prime year for goalies. The best goalies of the last 2 generations have played well deep into their 30s.

He waived his NTC so VAN could get a 2nd round pick, how many players would do that now on this team?

I still think if they were a good team now he would be a pretty decent starter

He has 8 points in 7 games and he’s -1. To me it’s more of the same with him. Personally I take the offence with him all day long, but that’s just me.

Yes, but you take advice from Ray Ferraro, so either you are an idiot, or you are an idiot.

I think just about all players would gladly play somewhere else on this current roster.

Kesler waived his NTC also and we got a first. If I remember correctly that is when the team was starting to suck, and players did enjoy the country club atmosphere but were more than willing to trade to play for better teams.

Another day in paradise. Been going on since 2013. I bet the Canucks have the record for the most players only meeting in the last decade.

I just tune it out now.

ANA was the ONLY team he'd waive for.

Do you really believe that he waived so Van could get a 2nd round pick? Most likely this selfish player waived so he could be with his clique partner.

How many players would do something like that on this team? Well we know Horvat has left money on the table on his last contract so the team could improve... so you can count on one being less selfish than others.

It has been years ago, but I think KB was willing to waive if it was Ana or LA. Don't quote me on that but I think that is what I remember.

The players did have their NTC so they did have the right to use it.

I admire KB for wanting to retire a Canuck but if I am honest I didn't admire him as a player. I was one of the ones who was hoping to trade him every year.

If you are talking about money on the table, the Sedins did on their 2nd to last contract.
