Sure this team might be getting their chances but it also boils down to coaching. Schemes mean everything and when the opposition knows the same routine over and over, it’s no wonder the team keeps losing. PP is predictable and teams know this foolish coach kills skill on his team by playing dump and chase hockey. Just fire the coach already or expect the same results.
What’s more sad is that every hockey fan out there sees it but the GM.

I think the new players just get you up to speed talent wise with the good teams.
But the NHL is a tough league, you need talent, and not getting outworked, timely saves, good game management and a few breaks to win.
Right now you only have one of the above.

Ottawa Senators are 30th in the NHL. This is supposed to be a different year? Another poor start. This coach may not be the complete problem but if you can't get your players to deliver then he's the first to go. Anyone else think he even has a chance at being hired by another team? I think he was only here to develop guys

I don't buy that he's safe. If the Sens keep playing like this and not getting results Dorion should do something. I'm good if they go for another top pick but not at the expense of development of players.

I wonder how tied at the hip Dorion and DJ are. There might be a mandate to keep costs low depending on the debt involved. You'd think new ownership is likely to want to choose its own guys/gals to run the show irrespective of what happens... Neither of the Ds have a clear future here with this on ice product.
