he play a quadriplegic zeitsev before he play JBD or Thompson |

Wow DeBrincat is so awesome out there on the PP with Brannstrom.
Sarcasm Alert!!!
Put Joseph and Kelly and Hamonic and Zaitsev along with DeBrincat on the PP if you really want to score. |

Happy to see that I'm not alone and unfortunately for me it didn't even feel good emotionally.
I'm OK with the Stutzle deal because I think he'll grow into the contract but the Norris signing was questionable for the very reason you cite.
Giroux was never intended to be traded but rather to serve as a mentor for 3 years and I think he'll do that well enough for now at least.
Everybody knew that the D was not up to scratch but I thought they needed to find out what they had in JBD and Thomson before making any significant trades. There was and is no rush because this team is too young to be a serious contender and all that any of the trades people were proposing would accomplish would be to squander assets in exchange for poorer odds at the lottery. That's all Smith accomplished in the last couple of years by playing Chabot into the ground with mostly lousy partners not only stunting his development but making sure the team didn't have guys like Mason McTavish in the system. How that guy is still here is beyond me.
Everybody knows what I think about the DeBrincat acquisition. It was a brilliant marketing move for Ottawa this summer but no serious Cup contender is going to have DeBrincat on the team let alone in the top six. 9 million bucks to qualify!!! YIKES!!! Wouldn't surprise me in the least if Pierre "Proudest Day of My Life" Dorion does it and gobs of people cheer. - Whatisavailable

They should fire all coaches lol
Like watching pond hockey like get a system that they carry the puck over the blue line man I hate that dump and chase poop
Start holding people accountable too like my god 🤬
At this point I’d say DJ YOU’RE FIRED!
And take the rest of your recommendations with you 🤦♂️
Luke Richardson you want HC
Alfie wanna be AC
Mark Methot you want to coach our D

This game, Tortorella out-coached DJ. Their system worked and stuck with it. It's becoming a bit of a theme. Getting out-coached and at times, outplayed. The defence this game wasn't that bad and yet they still lost.
In normal situations, I don't think folks would be calling for the firing of the coach, but in a season where you were expected to improve and some habits that have bit you in the past are still seen, it might be time for a new voice.
These young players need a guy that can take them to the next level. I don't think it's a coincidence that the best player during the losing streak might be Giroux. A guy that has been around. Different coaches, systems, etc. He still finds ways to be effective. The young players tend to just overthink and grip their sticks too tight.
I have mentioned Colorado brought in Bednar while their core was already established. He was able to take them to the next level along with some new players along the way. I think Ottawa is in a similar situation. DJ has gotten these young players to an ok spot, but it's time for them to hear a new voice, system, etc to get to the next level.
Guys like Giroux, Brady, and Stu I think can be effective no matter the coach. Guys like Chabot, Bath, Debrincat, Branstrom, and Pinto could benefit from a new voice. |

December 2021
DJ Smith: "losing Zaitsev hurts. He is an elite defender. He is under rated".
Facts:
Zaitsev is a minus player in every year with the Sens
Zaitsev is a -41 in his career 404 NHL games
Zaitsev played the lowest mins tonight of any D-man
Zaitsev ("the elite defense") played the least on PK (#72 played 0 SH)
Zaitsev in the lineup, Sens are 0-6-0 |

DJ should be fired now before the losing gets even worse. No NHL GM would keep this misfit as their coach except pierre dorion. He should have his head examined. Sens fans deserve better. Hearing the constant boos on tv and the fire DJ chants on tv should make your GM realize this

Indeed, its tough to comprehend at this point. Its either the system in place doesn't work ( if any) or the players cant execute.
Last night i started thinking i need a new team to cheer for. |

I wonder if the sale proceedings will impact how quickly this team moves on making either on ice or bench changes. Certainly you'd want this to be a time to project stability, but when you lose so many times in a row, something has got to give. You'd have to think a marquee coach name like a Trotz or even Jacques Martin sitting there in Kingston could boost value. Nothing like a ten game losing streak to boost the motivation of buyers talking about spending half a billion dollars. |

As an outsider I am quite surprised by how quiet Sens fans are last night and today. This coach has his team underachieving and the fan base should be furious demanding change. |

Agreed why call up JBD? What is point of pairing Chabot and Brannstrom?
How did our 4th line end up against Philly's top line so much and we had last change?
Dj has to go...Dorion is accountable for not getting a defenceman and is likely gone with new owners... |

Dorion firing DJ is the move he has been saving to save his job if the sens stumbled this year (aka close to thr present situation). By firing DJ Dorion buys himself another year. New owners also buy Dorion some more time.
Sens have gone thru a rough stretch playing some playoff teams and better teams. Next 5 to 8 games will determine the season and whether or not DJ gets fired.
Giroux looking frustrated last night is not a good sign.
And is it just me or is Debrinicat getting chances but seems snakebit? |

The game for Debrincat is a lot harder when Patrick Kane is not setting you up.
