Pilut has lost his waiver exemption now. Also on the ice for all 3 5v5 goals for last night with Power. Seems he's overtaken Fitz and may be in a fight with Bryson to stay in the lineup, if they are all healthy down the road. Interesting one to keep an eye on. - Lunaion
It is definitely interesting. I like Fitz more than most but I also like Pilut. I think it is similar to what we've been kicking around: at some point they are going to have decisions about guys that they like and that have been around for a while.

Think there's a few, gonna have to make a move sooner than later - Buff36
Not sure they'll really need to this season. Fair chance the D is never all healthy, and Fitz had more than a fair shot to lock down a job....or just carry 8 D.
Pilut over Bryson is the one to watch, imo. If Power + Pilut continue to play well together.

I think bryson and pilut are the 6th and 7th when dust settles and the bottom pair when they get another d body back in lineup
bryson blocked 4 shots last night, pilut 3 vs the wings

look at josh allen vs every other bills qb since kelly
allen leads and he has been doing it for years already - homiedclown
Idk….
Boss probably thinks we should bring back Robert Woods for “leadership”
U can tell Boss never played sports at any meaningful level
The “leadership” of his little league team probably got him a great “participation trophy” that he still holds dear
Maybe he even got Girgs to sign it
Reinhart definitely passed though 🤣🤣🤣 |

if I had to bring 1 back next year, it's okposo on a 1 year 2.5 mil contract
I am a little surprised they did not already extend one of the 2 - homiedclown
I doubt they’re both back
Okposo seems more likely bc he wears the “C”
Buy i guess we’ll see |

I disagree, the Sabres shouldnt just rely on the new guys for leadership. That's silly.
Veterans lead , why pile more responsiblity on these kids.
Look at the eichel situation, your trying to make the same mistake again.
Same for ethan bear, maybe he wasnt our type of "vibes" guy. You were bent for no reason. Maybe he isnt a leader? - Boss34
In all seriousness, Okposo and Girgs are fine for this year.
Okposo especially has reignited Skinner and Tage. Girgs plays a role well.
However, as the clock strikes 12:00 for 1 and 3:00 for the other, it is nearing time to replace them and set the clock back some...still Vets, but younger.
A clone of Tuch to play on Tage's line while he plays with Cozens and JJ would be ideal IMO.
Get a tough banger who can play Girgs role on L4 and bring real snarl to the team.
Problem solved.

Bryson, Pilut, Joker rotation? Everyone loves a good rotation.

Well Fitz isn't waiver exempt either. I would still make a move on a RD even when Samuelsson and Lyubushkin come back. Hell package Joker Fitz a few 2nds |

if you replaced girgens tomorrow with Weissbach, Murray or Biro
I doubt we miss a beat and the ice is less dented between periods |

Just thought I would pass along a little info I got today, Leafs asked if we would consider taking Justin Holl and they would also include a " sweetener". |

I know what Meatballs said but I'll believe Quinn gets taken out again when I see it. PP1 was finally looking good with him on it. - Slump Buster
He’s not making any lineup changes after last night’s game (barring injury, of course) |

Sure, but you know it's extremely unlikely to happen during the season. They also really need to flip a F for a D, which also feels much more likely in the offseason.
Keep raking up VO empty netters and move him if you fall out of the hunt though.

He started sh!t bringing me into “his convo”
Girgs isn’t a bad player
He’s also not the almighty savior
He must have posed for a picture with Boss’ friend’s daughter or something |

That makes sense,
especially with current injuries
And i believe he’s a RH shot too
He’s not Girgs by any means, but decent enough to fill in at least |
