I have no problem with the player, think Girgs is good at what he does, when he stays on his feet. I just think the Sabres have the younger players to roll 4 lines with speed and forecheck at you with more scoring touch. Sabres don't need a conventional 4th, they have the talent to roll 4 fast lines.

Wow things have changed. Table for 2 with a view of the locomotive.

39 - put me and lunaion down for an extension for girgensons.

I'm at 3 years 8 million. Leadership costs money.

- Boss34

He turns 29 in January

I would sign him for 2 years $5 million, if he makes it through this year without a significant injury. He has missed SIGNIFICANT time his entire career.

Murray yeah, but Weissbach has gotten better every year he's been here. Might just turn into another sneaky 7th rnd pick.
- Buff36

I think he could be a player in the league but I think he is about to age out of any chance that he might have with us. He has always impressed me in the prospect games.

I did not back read (reid ?) enough to see if anyone mentioned it, .. but not only was the hustle by Girgensons just EPIC, .. but he literally had that PHYUCK Letang hanging on to his L arm, and ZG just put it into 4 wheel drive and dragged that mutt out of the scrum, .. LOVED THE FELLAS attitude when that warrior came back to the bench, .. there is no arguing that the attitude towards each other (you can tell it in every pre/post game interview they do, .. watch Tuch tonight when he's talking about Girgensons (what do you expect from a future captain though, .. maybe Dahlin too), ..

If you don't think that Granato is the coach for this team (much the way McDermott is w/ the Bills), .. then you don't have a clue, .. this guy has the pulse of HIS team, and he damn sure cares about what is being presented on the ice, and how it can get better every game. 7-3 to start is PRRRRRRRRRETTTY good, ..

P.S., .. Paul from Buffalo, thanks for that great call this morning about the pukes from Boston and their maggot fan base being in the arena on the 12th, .. I hope you are right in folks showing up that night, .. that game is THE measuring stick game to date for this club (not sure on the stats, but I know Boston has owned this team for the past several years), .. I'm optimistic that the arena will continue to grow, .. I KNOW IT WILL, .. people are skeptical (understood with the history and all), .. but if there are two examples of this being done in Buffalo before, then you only need to look to "99 or "05-06, .. the SCF team had good vibes the season before (to hell w/ the Capitals to this day, .. BONDRA !!!!!!), but there winning bred a rabid fan base, .. '05-06, no one saw that coming, but once the wagon started rolling (check out the logs on this site from back then, .. talk about good reeeeding), .. it was picking up people left and right, .. this town has, and always will shower their teams w/ fan support (when it's warranted - see Bills rebuild to where they are now), .. it was said last year, .. this group is a real life "Major League" squad, .. just keep winning boys, .. nothing like the power of a Buffalo crowd when the building is full !!!!!

Thanks for taking my call, .. I'll hang up and listen.

First, love the screen name.

Second, if the ticketmaster map is correct, November 12th has a chance to SELL OUT.

Look out, Bruins. There's a monster waiting for you.

I debate in my head every night if a good team should have Z and Asplund. I still haven't come to an answer, and neither have I.

lol, that was a good one. Take a look at 4th lines of good teams, mostly minimum salary guys. Every team would kill for Asplund at 825k. They'd be fine with Girgs at 825k too.

He's a wonderful player. I hope he was able to rehab it to 100%. Tough injury, but I have a lot of faith in his work ethic and love of the game to do the rehab work.

I sure hope so man, .. cuz the venom that the Bruins conjure up is palpable.

Somebody said it earlier about the Penguins looking like a Dad playing against his 18 year old, and the Dad's chances of beating the son were dwindling w/ every play, .. just natural selection, when you're dealing w/ fossils (again, .. watch that lazy lazy Malkin pitchfork Girgensons when he motorboated by his ass), .. the younger/ stronger species will always take over, .. BUT teams like Tampa, Florida, Boston don't respect the Sabres, and I don't blame them, .. why would you ever have respected a core that had Eichel/ Reinhart/ insert other toxic names, .. something just tells me that this group knows all of this, it pisses them off, and they are on a mission this year to one by one advise the rest of the Atlantic that there's a sound that is getting louder and louder on the warpath after each game !!!

For the record, .. Olofsson's goal song is becoming infectious, .. still partial to a good old fashion goal song like Rock and Roll Part II by the Glittered One (for the communal effect in the building), .. queue up the Jock Jams cd !!!

I believe it was actually off at the end of last week. He was the biggest trade deadline acquisition.

All very reasonable points. Injuries should be a concern, I'm not worried about a finely tuned machine at 29 years old.

We could use him a bit if Milano or Poyer are out. Could be both. Even if Tre played half the D snaps this week would be a plus.

Ever been part of a leadership group?

The one constant try hard guy that showed up and played thru all of the bs, and you make a mockery of the guy.

I get the trolling boss is fun angle, but girgensons is a heart and soul buffalo guy.

I know you have a fred jackson jersey, maybe even a freddie bobblehead doll πŸ€”

Those are the type of guys that work for my hard earned ticket payment.

Boss is a Heart and Soul guy kinda, but his time in Buffalo is done. Tha Sabres have a plethora of young players. It's time to end the traditional 4th line

That's now how it works though. He's gonna be a lifer.
Girgensons is 28, not 38.

You overlook leadership.

Okposo is getting old, I'd be careful long term with him.
Also a heart and soul guy., but yeah the age thing catches up.

The Sabres have a young core of Leaders coming out. Girgensons isn't needed anymore in that aspect. Okposo is playing well the last 3 games, if they do extend him hopefully it's just in 1yr increments. Dahlin, Tuch, Tage, Cozens are all taking that responsibility.
