Sure, but again IMO they were the better team the first 2 periods. Better shot Quality, but they died. Back to back caught up. Next couple games will be interesting, these teams are gonna hit are D with speed and a heavy forecheck, see how they handle it.

One other thing that was interesting - they actually thought we had the better of the play over the first 2 periods. I think the odd man rushes may have skewed our perception. I thought our biggest problem is that we seemed to be gripping the sticks a little too much and that is what changed in the 3rd.

You couldn't give Malkin or Letang away right now because of their contracts. Nobody wants to pay a 40 year old hockey player big money.

This mistakes were made last offseason. The days of being able to win a cup with a core in their 30s are over. The team has been in decline and it was foolish to bring all of these guys back.

Been pretty high on Tage since i seen his play early last year. By middle of season You could see 1C potential. Right now He can be top 10 player in the game.

I think we are looking at year 3 of Josh. Adams had the vision of seeing where he is going and sign him early. Kinda same as beaner did with Josh.

Reasonable post, you could see how much the team loves girgensons. It was a long night with my pjs and bobblehead doll.

Donny G had mentioned several times that he was so impressed with Tage's passing abilities and that last year he should have had a bunch more assists but the team wasn't burying chances, the Tuch goal showed that, I was yelling at the TV for him to pass it earlier, glad he didn't he showed so much patience and waited for the perfect passing lane.

Tage is legit, that was Powers best game as a pro. His vision is incredible as well.

Love the fight in this team.

He controls the puck with ease. His length and game awareness makes him unstoppable.

I just watched highlights of that goal for the 10th time and I still thought Powers was going to shoot it. Powers can be a bit of a hot mess in the zone but I am fine with that. He gets better every game. More importantly, he is fearless and not restricted by the coaching staff.

For a long time the most overplayed point in Sabre talk has been some version of "Vic is not the type of player this team needs to win."

He can beat any goalie in the league, at any moment, without a screen or tip. That is the single best one-trick you can have. He is paid the correct amount of money. He worked his way up from a 7th rounder to maximize his talent as regular goal scorer. That speaks to character to me.

If we trade this guy the return better be the Sam return or better.

With 3 EN goals for VO this season already, I was curious for most in one year. Answer 9, and it's been done twice, by Ovie and Bure. Clearly trusted with a lead, and accurate from damn near 180 +, would be a fun one to watch. Obviously need a lead to get them, but nonetheless, he's a third of the way there in 10 games.

I think we all forget that he was probably our best player over the last 20ish games of last year. He is the equivalent of "all he does it catch touchdown passes".

It is interesting that you reference Sam because I think there are a lot of similarities. Sam also had a fantastic skill set but he also had his limitations. I am fine with either of them on my team, but the question with complimentary players is "how much?".
