Two things that I've argued for days on this board were right in front of our eyes tonight (and over the last few games).

- Other than bringing in another veteran D as insurance, we don't need any trades to help the team. You know what will help this team? 30 more games of Cozens, Mitts, JJ, Quinn and Power. These guys are growing right before our eyes. Leave the team alone.

- Malkin. Freaking Malkin. I don't know why so many people are surprised - this is the guy that he has been for years. He'll turn the gas up a bit when he smells a goalie but otherwise he floats in such a way that would make Taylor Hall blush. I'll say it again - most overrated player in today's game. 4 more years of that? Fantastic.

The funny thing about him is that he has two skills: doing the dirty work in front of the net and getting pucks out of corners. I think he is getting a ton of assists from the latter right now.

If they grab 5 points in the next 5 games, Adams is going to need to show he's got a bit of a spine. They still need another top 6 forward for the long run. They don't need a high-end one, but Okposo isn't going to last up there all season. Make a trade.

One other thing occurred to me while watching the Pens. Playing them is almost like your 18 year old self playing your father in sports. He used to be way better than he is and he can still be dangerous at times but you see him fading. He might get you every once in a while but that ship is leaving port and it ain't coming back.

I get wanting to maximize what's left of Crosby's game but you can't have a roster that old. They should have done a mini-reboot.

So why was this game on local TV in Pittsburgh, but the TNT national broadcast in Buffalo?
