Every line Asplund is on dominates defensively.

He’s a defensive stud.

- sbroads24

This is why he needs to be on the team, regardless of how much he scores. I do think we could get 15 out of him if we just put him in the lineup and didn't take him out.

His line with PAYTON KREBS allowed 0.00 shots against last night. Zero shots means nill percent of goals.

Can't win if ya can't score. He makes less than one million doll hairs and for 15/60 minutes last night, the Red Wings had literally no chance to score.

Cantskate28 - 9 yr Vet, 8 games played this season, 99 TOI, 2 pts. $2.2m
Asplund - 144 game Vet, 6 games played, this season, 84 TOI, 2 pts, $0.83m

Reinforces LittleZ is overpaid by $1.4m...but, gotta get to the Cap floor somehow

I see that ROR has one point (an assist) in 8 games and is rocking a -11. I think we all knew at some point he was going to fall off of a cliff given the type of game he plays and his poor skating but I didn't think it would be this soon. St. Louis got their cup so I guess at this point they are playing with house money.

Edmunds has had a few very good games this year, and I'm an Edmunds hater

Comparing him to Milano isn't fair, Milano is playing the best I've ever seen a linebacker play football in my life

- robz228

I was thinking about this the other night, and it might be an overstatement, but it also isn’t a crazy thought, either. He is playing like a crazy person. He is possessed out there this year.

I think Von pumped these guys up 10x

I still can’t believe we signed him

That's a fair point. The game just seemed like a good example of who is really carrying the load back there. Edmunds is absolutely having his best season but I think he is going to be one of the cap casualties next year.
- Slump Buster

Agree, he still gets caught watching the QB's eyes to much when he drops into zone. And he misses a lot of Tackles. I still think he was in the wrong zone on that Kelce catch in the playoff game at the end there. If he drops back towards the hash mark instead of basically right on the KC logo there isn't that 10-15yrd gap between him and the CB, especially with the CB lined up outside the hash towards the sideline.

I think we need to look at Krebs like he is a wimpier Reinhart with a higher development curve. He might finish the season strong and 35 points would be a nice statline from him, imo.

A wimpier Reinhart is like, if there was a player in NES Ice Hockey below the wimpy guy.

Its definitely true for me, I don't know what watching Ray Lewis was like for example. But Milano single handledly beat the ravens. I feel like thats something you never say about a linebacker.

Lewis was the first person that I thought of in terms of dominance but he was a pure inside guy. He had the same effect: you noticed him on every play.

Quinn has played well the last 2gms, guess maybe he should have just kept playing after the 2nd game
- Buff36

Read the athletic article on him and JJ and he watching film with Granato, going over where to be better and it really showed how much he has to work to be successful.

As much as I hate it the rotation has helped, every time a guy comes out of the presser they play phenomenal

Agree with you on that. He's battles on the boards and gets to the net, just gets pushed around doing so. Took Sam a while to grow into that too. The guys who just don't have the instinct and desire to do it are the ones who bother me.

still 21. he's gonna find the pine more and more though this season. coach said in his interview today ice time is going to reflect play more and more and not just a rotation going forward. Krebs either scores points or rides the pine I suspect from here out. Don had the sense about him today that fun times are done, and winning every point possible is the goal from here out.
