That and he can't win face offs.
- Marwood

Mackinnon is a 46% career FO win, EP is 44%. Neither of them win faceoffs. McDavids career is 46.6%, though he did improve a lot last year. FO% is not nearly as important as you seem to think... How many games did we lose last year with 60+% FO wins? alot.

Yes, good players. NOT elite. There is a massive disconnect here with the fanboys. Pouty is unlikely to resign so he should be shipped out. A small and soft core like ours is not a solid foundation to build a contender on. Start over. Find a real 1C and 1D through the draft to build on. Find a better mix. We can’t continually prioritize small and soft wingers.
- CanuckDon

How often can you get 1 in the draft? Maybe 1 or 2 in each draft that you have to battle other poopty teams for and the draft lotto.

Forwards over 200 GP Petey is 33rd in PPG. There is no one ahead of him that was drafted after him. Svechnikov is the next highest at 71 drafted one year later.

They really do need some different players to get different chemistry but players like Petey don't come around very often whether you like his game or not.

Yep, the core is not the problem, the supporting cast and their laziness/inconsistency is.

Line combinations is a massive part of the continued failure for sure. I was pissed when Benning let Tanev go, he was the ideal partner for Hughes.

It feels like both coaches have been trying to fix the lineup as a whole instead of 1 line at a time. Find 2 forwards who have good chemistry with Pettersson and stick with it, don't pull them off his line the second they have a poor game or get scored against.

- NorthNuck

With how the season started, I think that's got to be the idea to put 3 players together and run them for a 10 game stretch if possible. See if they can gain chemistry and produce results. Coach is still looking for immediate results though to win games.

Need players that can play together and Boeser has been here a while and still hasn't gained much traction. Horvat hasn't had stable line mates maybe for a reason.

Injuries happen but Van doesn't even have pairs of players that have chemistry.

You'll be shocked to find out that Mackinnon also sucks at faceoffs.
- NorthNuck

He excels at everything else. I would take MacKinnon over Pouty everyday.

I liked Kuzmenko's offensive chem with him, and you can toss Podkolzin in there for some size, just let them go for a long stretch. Yes Bo has to deal with poopty wingers every year but the way the team is constructed he is simply not the top priority.

See the bold. That's the difference. Do I talk about your wife? Life? kids? No.

I posted this morning about some hockey articles and two posts later you told me "I knew everything". Do I dish things out to you? Yes, are you they about your family? No. Your intelligence? No. They are hockey related.

Do I tell VHG that he's off his meds because he comes in with randomly like a crazy person would because who knows what he is laughing at without saying anything. It might be mean if it's true(which sorry VHG if it is)

Do you know what humility is? I made a not so subtle joke to VHG about his generation the other day and you made one back to me. I admitted that I do. Humility.

You female doged about how I don't pay for hockey to watch the games because I was annoyed that a website went down. You don't know my situation. You female dog about the entire team and how the way to get change is to stop paying for it but then are so proud about how many subscriptions you have to watch the team. Do I say anything about that to you? Not yet.

Obviously I dish it out and get it back from a lot of people. Lefty and I have no problem with each other. He's able to keep it sports related. Like how a grown ass man should.

In regards to the bolded, I think you may have me mistaken for someone else. If I did make that comment, it might have been once.
In regards to the know everything comment, would it have made you feel better if I added a lol.
If you recall, I am the one who has been called Mr. Know-it-all and I just take it in stride, as I don't let the comments on here bother me,as I usually have a smile on here when posting, or making a comment.
In regards to the family part, it is a figure of speech, not a comment I would think anyone would be sensitive about.

Mackinnon:
0.72 hits/game
0.48 blocks/game
Pettersson:
0.69 hits/game
0.61 blocks per game

I guess Petey is too soft to be a 1C?

(For what it's worth Petey averages more takeaways as well)

- NorthNuck

LMFAO. Petey isn’t a center, not because he is too Soft. Great work comparing Nate to Elias. I haven’t seen Elias throw a hard check all season, what a useless homer stat. Elias not being elite has nothing to do with his hit totals or shot blocking totals. I guess Lazar is also elite when you are wearing rose Color fanboy glasses

MacKinnon did lead his team to the worst win percentage in almost 2 decades one season (His 4th season). I went and checked and the Red Wings in 19-20 had a lower win percentage that season. Colorado was 2nd worst. That team also included Rantanen, Landeskog, Duchene, Iginla, Erik Johnson, Barrie.

The new core of MacKinnon, Rantanen and LAndeskog were not sold off.

There could be 4 or 5 one C’s in this draft. This is the year to bottom out

The core that pouts when the going gets tough. The one C that was sad last year and pouted until January when the season was over. The one D that can’t defend. The core is spectacular 🌈🤡

Petey threw a hard check last game. It was out of character sure but your exaggerations are on a hysterical level as usual.

If they win fine, if they lose, no big deal. It's best that way.
