I listed the facts right in front of you.

No you didn't. You just looked at one game and ignored the rest of the games. Factually, you're wrong. As a fact-based person, you should be embarrassed.

You said it. This is the site a lot of people pull stats from ti conveniently fit their argument.

How to defend zac shouldn’t be in the nhl. He’s apparently a beast according to the facts. Right cliff

no issue for a waiver pick up, good skater and seems to get to the puck, I would play him over Mac and until a young kid takes the spot

Tortorella’s methodology once worked in the NHL, but since 2013-2014, Tortorella’s teams have advanced beyond the opening round of the playoffs only once, advancing only as far as a second round loss to the Boston Bruins in 2018-19.

But can he sustain it? looking at the point, two goals in one game....one lucky bounce and an empty netter. get some will say doesn't matter how, but is it sustainable, will he consistently get a point every other game? since, he has had one assist in 5 games.

Same with Hayes...do not expect him to continue his point streak. or hart to continue his save percentage.

stick to the facts...this is not his second season. doesn't matter why or how, just like his draft position at this point.

- Peter Richards

Some will decline, some will be sustained and others will trend up and improve. Lots of scoring will be streaky. Got to wait, watch and see. It really is such a very small sample size of games so far.

I dislike hearing the oft sweeping judgments like he isn’t a top 6 player, he can’t play center, or this player is better than that one, all based on 1-6 sample of games. “I am sure player x…” The whole idea of developing young players is over a period of years not a handful of games.

They are moving N.Cates back to wing to give him more offensive opportunities and build his confidence, but anyone who thinks it is reasonable for him to make the transition to center or even know for sure if he can in a handful of games is full of BS.

They need to play a long game with many of the kids. There will be growing pains. As a fan, I am embracing that. I want improvements in development.

Thanks for sharing. Having a v come and go in a few seasons and looking at the team. I will give him time and we all should’ve known this was coming. Guessing he will be here for a few years and yes his message will be lost like all coaches. But I will let him do him.

Frost has been playing 3rd line minutes and scoring at a 40 point pace as basically a 2nd year NHL player. On a bad team but hey, have you seen players like that all your life? Have you watched and played a lot of hockey? Do you know the goods when you see it?
- MJL

But is he really?

He has 3 points in 6 games. 2 of which came in game 1 and one was an empty net goal. In the 5 games since he has 1 assist and is -3.

Yes technically 3 points in 6 games averages out to a 41 point pace, but take out that game 1 (1 en) he has been underwhelming.

He will be lucky to reach 30 points in my opinion.

We have to start to understand that Frost is a #27 pick and if he became a 60 point player that would place him as one of the best #27 picks ever.

There was/is a reason he slipped that low. And we are seeing that now in his play. He has some skill but he also has weaknesses that IMO are always going to prevent him from being anything more than a 3rd or 4th line player.

You're going to get him and Mac and a player like Lascyznski is going to Lehigh. Wonder who comes out if Tippet plays the next game.
Also wonder who comes out when Risto returns.

Tortorella’s “volatile, confrontational style” was criticized by former players who claimed he “chastised players in the middle of the dressing room or even on the bench during games, and there were times the confrontations were uncomfortable. They left the rink angry with him on occasion, and they often disagreed with his coaching decisions and/or his approach.”
