Frost is leading the team in almosts. It’s great to see - Just5
almost = apricots
assists = apples |

Season is barely two weeks old and the farces are already a Mash unit. - PLindbergh31
But is it a Monster Mash (1962) unit? |

Torts is fond of making it sound like playing under him is some kind of pure meritocracy, but he's just as liable as any other coach to be personally biased.
I don't think Cates has played badly, but neither is he deserving of 18-20 mins per game. - Tomahawk
who else gets those minutes though?

I wonder if Bill chuckles to himself every time he writes the words, "clarity" and "Flyers injury news," in the same blog. |

yeah like how Frost played last period, yeah his linemates are suspect, but 2 coaches now putting frost with the same type of linemates???
I hope Torts continues with Frost getting minutes with good linemates, if for nothing else to end the comments about Frost and what he is... |

I'd still like to see Frost put together some games where he steps up on an extended basis; not for part of a period or for a standout play here and there. But, all in all, the puck luck he had on his second goal of opening night (an attempting centering pass to Tanner Laczynski that went off the stick of defenseman Dougie Hamiliton into the net) has been evened out by promising-looking plays that didn't end up on the scoreboard.
-Bill Meltzer
Because Frost is not that good Bill. I have seen players like him all my life, they have these amazing puck skills that just don't translate to goals in the NHL. The NHL is a hard game and not one for the meek either physically or mentally. Frost has a lot of puck skill, but in the end, does not have the game that will ever translate into being a consistent top 6 forward. I would not be surprised if Frost was moved before the deadline along with a veteran as a sweetener. |

Draft position means nothing at this point. No he should not be on your 4 th line unless he gets better defensively. - Peter Richards
Well, OK, but he cannot play in your top 6 unless he gets better offensively, so where does that put Frost once Couturier, Tippet and Brown come back? |

Don't forget Atkinson and JVR. They'll all be back 100% healthy any day now.
The focus on Frost today is very odd considering that, unlike Noah Cates, he hasn't been playing in the top 6. And, unlike Noah Cates, he has 3 points, not one. |

Frost didn't look meek to me when he casually ruined/ended Borowiecki's career on Saturday night.

Frost has been playing 3rd line minutes and scoring at a 40 point pace as basically a 2nd year NHL player. On a bad team but hey, have you seen players like that all your life? Have you watched and played a lot of hockey? Do you know the goods when you see it?

6 games in and you pull the bs on pace argument. Zac mac also on pace for 40 points. Tony D 68 and so on.

But can he sustain it? looking at the point, two goals in one game....one lucky bounce and an empty netter. get some will say doesn't matter how, but is it sustainable, will he consistently get a point every other game? since, he has had one assist in 5 games.
Same with Hayes...do not expect him to continue his point streak. or hart to continue his save percentage.
stick to the facts...this is not his second season. doesn't matter why or how, just like his draft position at this point.

Bill didn't write a paragraph about Noah Cates today, but he did write one about Morgan Frost. |

Cates is more defensively responsible than frost, which is why i'm guessing he is getting harder matchups. should he be the 2c...prob not and isn't ideal. but who else..sedlak? Should they allow frost those matchups....could be too damaging to his confidence...which would not help at all.
