I have mentioned this a couple times. In McDermott’s system on defense.

The 2 more important positions / parts of the defense are safeties and a D line

Corners are plug and play.

Quinn and Krebs both played roughly 9 minutes last night at even strength, which was the lowest of any forward.

Quinn, Mittelstadt and Okposo all played 3+ minutes of power play time. Krebs played none.

Is playing Okposo that much on the power play just a hope to get something useful out of him move?

They're trying to make him get 20 again on the PP. They need to simplify these guys roles. Okposo should be in a shutdown PK role. Stop trying to make these guys something they aren't.

If you your gunna have rookies(krebs included) on the 4th line its better to just toss them back in the A till you have an actual spot for them to contribute instead of withering away with Girgs and Slowpoke

Krebs has been the biggest disappointment so far to me imo. He's supposed to be showing some kind of life. He's played terrible throughout the lineup.

At least Quinn shows some offensive prowess, Krebs has been a blackhole everywhere. I'd be throwing him down with Bjork to gain some confidence back.

Agree with you about cozens. If there was a fancy 7-8 year deal. Lock him in at 5 mill a year for a long time

Quinn hasn’t shown anything. He looks slow.

This skating / speed is his biggest issue.

Unfortunately we are at the part of his development where he needs to play nhl games to get up to speed

AHL and a slower game won’t do him any good.

I mean he had a nice play for Jeff's first, had some nice moves to open space for shots,

Krebs had 1 nice back hand pass last night. He does absolutely nothing. He's a playmaker that hasn't made any plays.

Think there's been a big Mish mash of things with the Sabres. First is this a "see what you have year" and growth and development of the youngins, cause if it is then 2gms into the season isn't time to start flip flopping these kids around. And if you want Power to grow go get him a damn partner. Time to get out of the kiddie pool, the Sabres have enough ammo to make a bold move or 2 that won't hurt the youngins or there prospect pool and actually might make your #1 pick find his way.

Ehh.. I'd say 40% Habs fans, but still...expected to see more people in the building. They announced around 12k, but I'd say it was more like 10.

One of the more frustrating games I've attended. We should have put up 5-6 goals easily with how we played in their zone all night. Tuch and Tage got way too cute a number of times instead of just shooting the damn puck. Oh, and Owen Power was dreadful last night. Worst D man on the ice for us. Where is the dude who finished the season with us last year? This version of Power is not him. Oh, and 6 total hits for the team in a home game. Good times.

I believe there's a couple more in Rochester that will be taking spots. But this waiting has to stop. Especially with Power, we saw Dahlin go through it, go get him a partner.
