How would YOU turn this team around after last night's loss, O Great One?

That didn't answer my question, so I will ask again: who would you cut, bench, or trade, to bring about a tangible improvement to the team, following last night's horrible performance?

Girgensons brings more than quinn, krebs, assplund, olo, skinner, okposo at this point

Assplund was brutal and needs to sit.

Guy gets trucked every shift, sometimes twice a shift.
Too small and passive for the nhl

casey, olofsson, joker, our bucket of second rd picks and a few lesser prospects like johnson, murray, weissbach etc

for a legit top 4 rd and a legit top 6 player

3 or 4 for 1 trades

been saying this for months

feel free to piss on this post, you always do

I like winning hockey games, beginning of the season has been fun. But a little confusing to, are we trying to find out what we have, like you said 6gms in. Are Quinn and Krebs rotating. Shouldn't they both be playing meaningful minutes. Doesn't seem that way
- Buff36

I realize your sick of losing, but same as all the trade for debricat all offseaaon.....

There is finally a plan in place. Rebuild with youth

If something seriously changes, like winning and having a chance to make a playoff run, dont expect any moves.

In the short term I think that is fine. Both he and Krebs looked bad to start the season, I have no problem putting either one in the press box or 4th line at the opening of the season. Something will shake out soon. It wouldn't surprise me to see Krebs sent to Roch for a bit.
- Slump Buster

If you're sending Krebs to the AHL for a bit, Quinn should be sent to the AHL as well based on what he has shown so far, which isn't much at all.

And many of us disagree with that strategy, much like Tim Murray put all his eggs in one basket with trades this is the opposite end of the spectrum with putting all eggs in the draft and develop basket.

Usually that doesn’t work. It’s great to be excited for these prospects, I am too, BUT…Most of the prospects will fall short of expectations, it generally happens with every team, not just Buffalo.

Getting one young forward would not have blown up that rebuild plan, it would have strengthened it.

It's not even the sick of losing. Fine don't make trades and find out what you have. Are they doing that, is Hino part of the future. I would think they would hope Krebs and Quinn are but you won't know that unless they play meaningful minutes and there not doing that on the 4th line.

I have No Problem with them stacking the Prospect pool, actually probably go back to when I joined you buzzards and have called for it. They have done a nice job of doing that. If you are not gonna make trades to improve, that's fine. But atleast make it look like you're trying "To See What you Have" play out.

This is well said, but I think having actual roster pressure on the forward group is a good thing, AND we all know one of these guys is going to get hurt soon. Im kind of shocked Asplund kept playing after Souce or w/e his name is beat him to the ice then into the ice as he was getting up.

Power got rocked.

Pilut got rocked.

I don't know if Seattle has a lot of thumpers, but it looked like it last night.

You've clearly seen enough of these young 20 year old players to know which guys are late bloomers.

You would have traded tage, dahlin maybe even cozens?

These guys all looked terrible. At times.

Cant give away prospects just yet, IMO.

Especially considering not everyone wants to play here.

I'd move on from asplund, maybe olo or joker.

A tad older guy.... who you know how they are.

I agree, minus the vinny hinny part

Vinny earned his right to play last night. Merit based.
Leading the team in assists I believe? Missed the 1st 2 games to a healthy scratch.

Tough game last night, maybe he earned his way back out.

If yesterday was a do or die game, you have to admit vinny was the choice over krebs......

Sitting quinn and or krebs isnt gonna stunt their growth.
They are still practicing and learning the system at an nhl level. Just my opinion.

These are game to game decisions, not complete season choices.

I've almost reached the point where I can't have him and Z on the team after this season. They're almost the exact same player. I want one of them, dont really care which, but can't have both.

Unless you're one of the top teams in the league, your losses tell you more about who you are as a team than your wins do. That being said, it's also only October, which never fails to produce a myriad of anomalies when it comes to teams playing much better or worse than they're expected to. What makes the Sabres interesting is that they've done both already.

The Sabres ignored glaring holes in the name of development and are sitting the development guys or playing them on the 4th line while 28 year old journeyman Vinny Hinostroza singlehandedly costs us 2 goals last night.

It’s frustrating because they could absolutely be a playoff team with another impact top 9 forward

I'll take the one that has outstanding metrics and can actually play throughout the lineup on any given night where as Girgs can play 4th line LW and thats it.
