No way I'm giving up this years #1 unless it's for a young controlled star. Instead of taking off this offseason, Lou should have gotten his business done. Just adding a defensemen is not good enough if you want to compete for a Cup.

Should not even be a though. The second the season ends it needs to be done. Malkin and Ledecky have to be thinking we went from 2 ECF and a new building and possibly missing the playoffs two years in a row.

Whatever it is it’s not worth rolling the dice on with what we’ve seen so far from this team imo. I can tell you’ve only watched one game

Not saying this season is hopeless they can still get it together. Not saying they will or won’t yet. New coach/new system it may take some time. With that said with the way they’ve played so far I wouldn’t even consider trading that pick.

Things can certainly improve but they can only go so far with this current roster. If Lane ever got this team to the ECF finals, he would go down as an all time great coach. Barry did not have the best talent but he had better talent than this with this 2 ECF and they did not happen during full regular seasons. The players were also two years younger. You have to constantly like to improve the team and keep up with the rest of the NHL and that has not happened.
