Deja Vu...

Last season Green played Quinn Hughes the most minutes in the NHL by game 4... then he was injured.

This season Bruce is playing him 27min and by game 5, injured.

That’s a head scratcher. Quinn has been perhaps our worst player this year and the solution is to give him more minutes? Mabye Bruce has lost his mind

Old adage is to let him play through it.

Do you have a solution other that hire a Sutter? Which Sutter the retired one or the calgary coach? Who is replacing our president and our GM? How many 1st round picks do you want to add to offload our bad contracts?
- CanuckDon

Hire any Sutter that would be willing to take on this mess, Brian, Brent, Duane, Brandon.
Ya, having to trade away picks with just about every player will hurt, maybe salary retention will help soften the blow.
I really don't know how they can fix this mess, that wasstarted by Benning and continued on by this current group.

The disregard by Green on the fact that QH had no camp or preseason and Bruce with the disregard of him having a bad flu and his head being used as a piñata two games in a row shows the desperation of coaches dealing with a team that has next to no puck transition capabilities.

The issues run so much deeper than jR and his team. Our scouting department needs to be fired into the sun. When have we had a pro scouting win? When is the last time we added a key player with a pick outside of the top 10? The whole organization is trash. Fire JR and who is going to sign up to run this pos organization? Another rookie like Benning.

New line combinations from #Canucks practice according to jersey colours:
Mikheyev-Horvat-Miller
Höglander-Pettersson-Podkolzin
Kuzmenko-Åman-Garland
Pearson-Lazar-Joshua

Big changes here today

- manvanfan

I don’t remember if I actually posted it, or have just been thinking it, but if Miller isn’t really a C (which I don’t think he is) and Horvat has never had a decent play making winger (which he hasn’t, and needs dearly) then having Horvat/Miller together should be a good combo. I like Mikheyev as the third guy, he can certainly keep up, though Horvat will need to be the finisher on that line.

Boudreau is noted for over-relying on his offensive players.

True but I'm showing the carbon copy from two coaches on the same player here...

Are you saying then, that the Canucks supposed #1 defenseman, is incapable of playing true #1 minutes?

lol huge mistake letting that guy go. Imagine having Motte here instead of Lazar. Spend 4 years in development just to say see ya later.

#waits for 975K crowd...

Rags are a dark Horse pick for the cup.

Zibanejad looks like he's on a different planet compared to his days in Ottawa.

Last night I was thinking, I miss the highmore lammikko motte line … it was my fav last year. Maybe the advanced stats didn’t reflect, but they always seemed to cause exciting turnovers.

I put $ on rags this year for the cup after betting on tbay 3 years in a row. Kreider mika combo is fantasy gold as well.

Ya, it falls into the category of what I have been saying for a few years, this is a poorly constructed team.

Here's my hot take, the Canucks look mentally, emotionally and physically checked out and it's only game 6 of 82. You have to put that on the leadership group with Horvat, Miller and whoever else is in that group as the reason for it. It also lies with management for being unwilling to lose a trade or accept that no one is willing to meet their price and do make the best deal possible. It's also on Bruce Boudreau because he took over after Green and has made some of the same mistakes with this group as Green did.

Miller, Boeser, Pearson, Horvat, Myers and Garland all need to go for whatever we can get for them before it's too late. We may not stay in last place and win 1OA for Bedard, but we damn well better be top 3 with other late 1sts to try and salvage this mess.

I think they have until game ten to show signs of life, after that, we’re going to see players moved out.

At this stage it's hard to imagine them winning a single game with this group.

I don’t expect any trades until the TDL. The only move will be Bruce getting canned. Teams probably don’t have the cap space or appetite to take on our expensive contracts for underperforming players

Until they sort out the dressing room. If Schenn is pissed enough to go at Miller, on the ice, in front of the home fans, there’s bigger problems. Can only hope Millers response is to play like he did last year. Managements not trading him or BB after signing them in the summer, that would be admitting they made a mistake.
There’s a rumour that the Flames have inquired about Garland, not sure what would be coming back or how they’d fit him in.
