Such a sad statement.

D was this managements priority. Trades picks for Doormatt and Stillman. Check.

Meanwhile they hand over contracts worth $19,400,000 per season on 3 forwards... one of them until he is 37(8m) another probably not even worth $5m when his entire game is analyzed, and another who is a $4.5m 3rd liner with injury issues.

Can't wait to see how their gamble on committing to Martin as the back up plays out after only seeing a tiny sample size of him in the NHL....

This management is just another clown show. They are already being sued on one of their hiring's by the looks of it after only 8 months.

Thx Carol.

@Nucker - this has been the Canucks way since the Sedins. Turn the other cheek - hugs before thugs

We should immediately make this our motto. It'll sell tickets in Vancouver.

Thanks Carol. I think Myers' value is starting to come to light for some on here. He's our best defender and it's no surprise that part of our game has suffered the most without him. The team plays a more complete game with him in the lineup.

Suck it Neemer and Yorky.

- Load Management

Every time Myers is out of the lineup the team can’t play defence

He was 24.

The example is Bunting. Sept 17th bday. So Sept 15th he was 25. Sept 17 he was 26.

Kuzmenko was 26 in Feb.

- manvanfan

Did he have a birthday since or was he still 26 on September 15th?

It's true. He can't be replaced from within. Also has chemistry with OEL and Hughes has performed better with him than anyone not named Schenn.

People used to claim our D would be better without him. Addition by subtraction.... until he is out of the line up and things are a mess. He may not be a top defender in the league but on this team he is critical to any kind of balance in the D core. Until the D is rebuilt at least...

It seems we've been soft since the Bertuzzi hit.

Crawford was on the bench when the Bert incident happened. AV when Burrows was biting and pulling hair...

It's not so much about having tough guys out there, it's about having functional toughness throughout the lineup.

That's like saying you're dating the prettiest girl in town, when your town is filled with 2s and 3s and you're dating a 5. Technically it's correct, but that doesn't mean it's great.

Do the Canucks need him on D? Yes. Does the Canucks D, including him, suck? Also yes.

- NewYorkNuck

He’s still a good NHL second pairing option on most NHL teams. When he gets himself in trouble is when he tries to be offensive. Just needs to defend and stay back.

Without some of those incidents he'd likely be my favourite Canuck ever.

Agreed. Great story how he worked his way into the NHL and into a 1st line player. Incredible work ethic. Exciting player.

I assume Hog out then?

Or Joshua? He’s been a disappointment physically

I'd bump Joshua. At least Hogs is creating nearly as many turnovers as he's causing.
