Does PT21 have a rule about being condescending towards another poster? :-)

There is no doubt that Tort's is setting a tone here, but I don't believe under AV or Yeo that their intention was to have a country club, and even if it were true professional athletes would never allow it. That is where the player wearing the 'C' comes in.

- jd250

So would that mean that all the rest of the players in the locker room weren't true professional athletes?

SO bad.

Thought the first movie in this trilogy was a pretty good revival of the series. Last year's movie wasn't as good and it's disappointing this year's seems to be worse

Maybe. There's no guarantee Torts would trust a 18 year old rookie at center.
- Feanor

True. I was just basing it off of Couturier's injury he might've been forced to give him bigger minutes.

Again, you believe the Flyers have a surplus of young skilled talent that there won't be a spot for Frost? I just want to be clear and at least try and lead you in the right direction.
- MJL

just play this out. Do we agree Couts and Hayes are your 1C and 2C? Do we also agree that Frost should be playing in the top 9? If so, the only place for him to play would be 3C. However currently the head coach likes N Cates in that spot. this team obviously lacks talent and skill, but you have be able to play players in their proper spots also. With all his apparent skill Frost has, he has yet to demonstrate he is deserving of a top 6 role or even the 3C spot on this team. Its still early however and I don't think we can make any real judgements after only 2 games. Lets see where Frost and the team are after 20-25 games.

BTW, don't waste your time with Halloween Ends, a very disappointing conclusion to what was shaping up to be a very good trilogy.
- jd250

I stopped haloween ends maybe 30 minutes in due to it being a little over the top, is it worth watching the rest?

agree with all of that.

going in i didnt even have high expectations as far as actual quality goes. Just hit the basic layup on what you are supposed to do. i wont delve into any plot points or spoilers for anyone who still wishes to watch it, all I will say is it was it felt as pretty close to a waste of time as a movie can.

I absolutely see him moving Cates to 4c to create that "identity line' he wants and has mentioned on more than a few occasions. It would add the skill he wants and give him another option.

There are numerous issues with your premise here. Hayes can be moved to wing. Frost has yet to demonstrate that he is deserving of a top 6 spot or the 3C but Cates has? You don't seem to realize that the only reason Cates is playing center is due to Couturier not being ready to play. We don't have to see where Cates is after 20-25 games? It seems as though your bias has come into play again.

IMO No, it was very disappointing! I actually surprised with John Carpenter still producing he let the character Myers being treated like he was.

Damn, disappointing to hear. Was looking forward to seeing how it ends but now I probably won't bother. I've been trying to find some new horror movies to watch this year, just saw Trick R treat for the first time and enjoyed it. Also, Midsommar, not traditional horror, but man what an unsettling movie.

no bias intended, I am just going with what Tort's is stating. It seems to me Torts has a man crush on Cates so far ...

You routinely misread and make too much out of statements by coaches, players. GM's etc. You let it heavily influence your opinions.

I saw a headline today: "Horror film 'Terrifier 2' is causing viewers to puke, faint in theater; producer warns of 'graphic violence'" Sounds like fun :-)

BTW, serious question. Why do you defend Giroux so much? I mean, he was a very good player for the Flyers but under his watch this team spiraled downward, and the way it ended where he tied Fletcher's hands, I have no respect for this guy what-so-ever. Why do you still defend him?

I don t see Torts moving Frost or Cates from center if Coots returns. I am glad the Farabee at center experiment appears to be shelved.

I thought of this too, but does Tort's really want to limit Cates to 10-12 minutes per night? Right now Cates is playing almost 20 minutes per night, almost 5 full minutes more than Frost, though only 2 games so far.

I defend him because he is 2nd all time in franchise history in assists. 2nd all time in franchise history in points. All time franchise leader in PP points. A 3 time top 5 vote getter in Hart trophy voting and one of the best players in franchise history.

The team's failures were not due to Claude Giroux. The faliures are due to management and failing to build the team around him well enough

The fact that you ask why I defend him is not really surprising and is just another mark on your posting history.

Why would he have to? He can still kill penalties if need be and even get PP time. If Torts wants him to, he will get his minutes.

If we look at the ice time per game between Cates and Frost. In what area of the biggest discrepancy?

Not now, but if/when Couts comes back and is a regular in the lineup, and Brown comes back to anchor the 4th line, then yes I can see Frost being moved. I mean what else do you do with Frost? Maybe wing? But you also at some point will have Atkinson and Tippet coming back.
- jd250

Brown should be anchoring a chair in the press box or a line in the AHL.
