So, no C and only one A? Unusual right? If there’s no captain and only one alternate captain doesn’t that essentially make the alternate captain captain? What’s he an alternate to? - Dkos
What does this have to do with G wearing an A in Ottawa? |

Unusual, but not unheard of.
I think they’re waiting for someone to step up, and they’d highly prefer it to be Stützle or possibly Sanderson. That way nobody has to be demoted. If you can avoid demoting someone who is going to remain a part of your team, that’s ideal.
Let their two top prospects grab for the brass ring. |

They're going to over perform and put us out of the running for Bedard. We can't even fail properly.

Well. Maybe they can trade hart and tk immediately to properly sink the ship. |

Good start not totally unexpected when you look at the opponents. Add in the adrenaline for wanting to impress the new coach and the like.
They have been so bad the last few years that any uptick in play is going to look better than it actually appears. |

Listening to the postgame interview, I love how Torts talks about the Garland goal against in particular. Hart was bumped. In the last few years, I really have seen a lot of that on Hart. I know the coach can’t challenge them all, but just acknowledging it is valuable.

I just like that as the games go on, Hart has locked it down and given the team a chance to stay in the game.

Awful quiet on here. I guess the Flyers must have won a couple of games and the whiners have departed. Just saw the highlights cause was busy yesterday afternoon and evening, but was pleasantly surprised that they stayed with the Nucks and TK continues with his torrid start! One thing I noticed in the stats pack was that DeAngelo led the team with 27 minutes of ice time! That will probably become problematic if that continues, but nice to see that he and Provy are off to a good start. Things are about to get real as far as the schedule goes, so we shall see how that works out(could get fugly).
In other news, I see that Jakey is also off to a torrid start with the BJ's! He leads the team with a -6, and has zero points and zero hits. Glad that country clubber is outta here!! |

Don’t worry the haters are just waiting for the first thing to go wrong to start being belligerent again. Also Tony d has looked great so far. So smooth with the puck. Really been missing that skill back there. |

Does anyone think they have been outplayed overall in both games?
Hart giving up a softie each game is something to keep an eye on. |

I have zero doubt at the end of the day this team will finish in the bottom 10. Where in that pecking order will be the story to follow all year. |

Torts said he didn't blame Hart for either goal last night. One changed directions and the other he got bumped on. The bump was a non-factor to me. I think this is Torts building up Hart's confidence.

This is something to keep and eye on. But I like that he has locked it down in both games as the game went on.

It's also sweet that you 2 bonded over Tony D.
I hope you carry this energy for every marginal signing they make.

Or they plan on giving the C to Couturier or perhaps Atkinson when one or both return. |

I’m glad they’ve won, but I just don’t think it’s sustainable. My fear is that they improve enough to finish with 75-85 points, miss the playoffs but end up drafting in the 8-13 range. That would really be a worst case scenario when you look at the 2023 draft class. |

So, you are glad they won, even though that very win makes it more likely for what you fear to come true?

It's a TOP 3. This year the odds of getting ONE of them is pretty damn good.
Winning & STANDARDS are laughably unimportant when you consider where we are now, and where we will be when we're good enough to win.
In the meantime, let's keep grinding the edges on these DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH. |
